Château de La Vigne

This castle stay became a main highlight of our vacation! 1. Beautiful historic place and amazing view of the former supervolcano of the Cantal region. We loved the castle tour and walking in the park. 2. Fiendly owners (the castle's original family, which definitely adds a note of charm). 3. Beautiful bedroom and bathroom, comfy bed and good internet - with the expected creaking floors and funky doors we love in old houses.

3 MINOR things worth noting. The only things to be aware of for our Renaissance bedroom are 1. Stairs to the Renaissance bedroom. Fun, but might become an issue with large luggage or different mobility. 2. Castle visits can make a bit of noise, but only during the day, so it's not a nuisance. 3. Most restaurants around stop welcoming guests at 9 pm and are about 20 minutes away, so book ahead.

Sehr freundliche Betreuung durch die Schlossherrin und ihre Familie. Das Schloss und sein Garten haben eine einzigartige Lage und Ausblick. Ein kleines Abendessen im Garten am Tag der Sonnenfinsternis, zu dem wir sogar eine entsprechende Brille bekamen, wird unvergessen bleiben.

Wir hätten uns ein paar bequeme Gartensessel an schattiger Stelle im Garten gewünscht, um den Blick auf die Landschaft zu genießen. Weniger wichtig: es gibt kein TV im Zimmer.
