Kingfisher Beach House

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful, spacious house. The front door was large enough to accommodate double doors, making unpacking and loading our belongings effortless without worrying about damaging the doorway or our luggage. The bathrooms were thoughtfully designed, with high ceilings that easily fit our fishing rods in the showers for a quick rinse. The hot water pressure was perfect throughout the house, and each bathroom was stocked with plenty of toilet paper. There were many unique and fun painting artwork around the house in each room which was nice to look at and created a holiday feeling. The large dining and food prep area, along with the separate butler’s kitchens, were equipped with all the cutlery and utensils we could ask for. The bedrooms were neat and tidy, and the kids loved the bunk beds. There was also a downstairs lounge that could easily be turned into a separate room, with couches that convert into double-sized futon beds. Heaters kept the house warm at night and would be cozy for the upcoming winter days. Each room had an abundance of storage options—cupboards, drawers, and wardrobes—so packing and unpacking was a breeze, just remember to remove your belongings upon check-out. The location was perfect—close to shops, a short walk to the beach, fishing pier, and boat ramp. The same road leads to Intended Heads in just 5 minutes and St. Leonard’s in about 15 minutes. There are a few nearby playgrounds, including one with a flying fox and water play area, as well as public tennis and basketball courts. The Portarlington Golf Course and Curlewis Golf Course are both large and beautiful, perfect for a day out. Waking up to the sunrise, sipping coffee or tea on the balcony, and taking a stroll along the peaceful beach was truly heavenly. We highly recommend checking out Mr Mussel food van near the pier—$35 for 5kg of mussels—and The Devil’s Donut food van, offering 6 delicious donuts for $11.

We ran out of rubbish bags quickly, as there were only a few left when we arrived. Unfortunately, we couldn't reline the bins upon checking out. Additionally, we had trouble locating the recycling bin. Other than these two minor issues, we couldn't fault anything else about the house during our stay.

The location and facilities were wonderful for a family stay.

Nosey neighbour knocking on the door to complain that us leaving the pantry light on kept her and her partner awake all night and caused them to miss out on the night time breeze because they had to close the window.

Fantastic location and view

I had to sweep the whole property and wash a number of the dishes at the start of trip. Cleaner should use a vacuum cleaner rather than sweeping poorly. One of bins in kitchen was not empty upon arrival. Fan in upstairs bedroom not working.
