Location:
Villa Minerva is part of a residential area in a charming coastal town, so it's great for families. A range of amenities such as restaurants and shops are just a short walk away. Make a picnic and take the 20-minute walk down to the coast for an afternoon of relaxing on a beach and swimming in the sea. One of the nearest beaches has volcanic sand and sun loungers, with some watersports like canoeing also on offer.
Just a few metres away from the villa is a bus stop with services heading to Sorrento. You can also drive to the town in around 10 minutes. Sorrento is famous for its lemons, with the town being home to shops selling lemon-themed souvenirs and local crafts. The beautiful old town is a lovely place to take a stroll. Historic buildings here include the 14th-century church of Chiesa di San Francesco, a bell tower, monastery and cathedral. Pizza Tasso is a popular place to take a sightseeing break with coffee, ice creams or lunch at a pavement cafe.
Also around a 10-minute drive away is Massa Lubrense. Follow hiking trails through the hills for stunning views over the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno and enjoy meals in harbour-side restaurants. Marina della Lobra is a great place to simply watch activity on the water, with boats heading to places like the idyllic Punta Campanella Marine Reserve. On many boat trips you can go diving, cave swimming and take in fantastic views over to the island of Capri.
The archaeological site of Pompeii is 40 minutes away by car. Explore this fascinating ancient site and then head to Mount Vesuvius to marvel at the still-active volcano.
