Gateway Suites is on Damvergi Street in the Old Town of Rethymno, a traditional Cretan neighbourhood where people used to socialise outside their homes. The Venetian harbour and its lighthouse are next to the hotel. The Fortezza, the open shopping streets, fish taverns, restaurants, cafes, patisseries and bars are within walking distance. The Old Town is a lived-in residential area, so quiet hours are observed.
Chania airport is approx. 65 km away and Heraklion airport approx. 85 km. Chania port (Souda) is approx. 50 km away and Heraklion port approx. 80 km. Transfers from and to the airport or port can be arranged at an additional charge; taxis and public transport are also available.
Parking: free parking nearby, subject to availability on the day of arrival; a space cannot be reserved in advance. Paid public parking, charged by the hour, is also close by.
