Relaxing, and tranquil.

Loved how remote and undisturbed it was. Such a lovely peaceful place.

There wasnt anywhere to relax unless you where in bed. Its only small so we know a sofa wouldnt have fit but that would have been ideal. Also the only other thing I would say is a bit more cutlery wouldnt go a miss. Loved our stay though.

Private, scenic and relaxing weekend with everything we needed

This is the second time we have stayed for the same occasion. The setting/location of the lodges are beautiful and you feel as if you’re totally secluded from everybody due to the spacing of neighbouring lodges and size of the land (but you know you aren’t realistically alone should anything go wrong!! I love feeling like I am in the middle of nowhere though so it is great for me hahaha). We were left with lots of tea, coffee etc and the facilities are great with the oven! Comfiest bed ever and the hottub is excellent it only dropped 1 degree after a couple of hrs which is fab for 11pm on a December evening 🤣. People complaining about privacy etc I don’t know if they have noticed the bathroom window is frosted so I don’t agree with those comments plus on a 1300 acre estate are you really serious about dog walkers making you feel intruded upon? !!!! There are curtains where it’s necessary eg bedroom and the hot tubs have a massive wall around them. It’s so private and you feel so out of the way of everything it’s bliss 😍😍 If you’re still reading we went to cafe Maelmin in Milfield and had some lovely hot chocs / scones and they have a sort of shop/pantry in there too which is really good plus the cafe is really festive and decorated right now, it’s a beautiful little village to stop off in for coffee or food.

The ONLY ‘complaint’ if you’d call it that was that we visited in the same weekend last year and there was a cute Xmas card, tiny tree and a bottle of wine and we didn’t get that this time but! That shouldn’t put anyone off as the lodge was otherwise set up beautifully but I think we had a cosy Xmas idea based on our last visit and if we hadn’t had that to compare then I wouldn’t even be mentioning this in the box. Honestly don’t know if it’s worth adding in but it’s the only thing when we arrived that we noticed was different but businesses change their approaches and ways of doing things / setting up rooms etc and that could be the case and it is fine !

The area is absolutely stunning

I stayed for two nights in the hut with my 3-year-old and a friend, and we had an amazing time. The area is absolutely stunning, there’s a beautiful lake view with lots of birds, open fields, and even cows coming right up to the fence while you relax in the hot tub. It’s such a peaceful place, perfect for unwinding in the middle of nature. The kitchen was well equipped, and we had everything we needed to cook our meals. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing stay, we’d definitely love to come back!

The stools are too tall for the countertop, so it's not comfortable to sit and have a meal.

Could be amazing.

Location.

Property was not properly clean on arrival. Off milk puddle in fridge and dirty shelves had to clean fridge before using. All plates and bowls were dirty had to wash them before use also. Blind in bathroom stapled to ceiling can’t be opened not good. Bathroom light switch hidden behind head board. All towels and bath robes are a greyish white, not nice. Blind in kitchen fits about 3/4 of the window. Not enough shelving/storage in kitchen. Some metal racks hanging from ceiling would do to stack plates and mugs. Bar stools super uncomfortable ended up folding them under the bed and using patio chairs inside. Dirt left in dustpan after sweeping. No shelves in oven. Pair of socks left under bed. No one likes a shower curtain hugging you in the shower. Maybe look at changing for a fitted screen/door. This place could be great just needs more attention to the finishing touches.

Great apart from TV

Lovely location, so peaceful! The two bottom beds were comfortable and the hot tub was ready for use as soon as we got there. The lodge was clean.

The TV turned on but there was no aerial or WiFi, so once you got out of the hot tub and wanted to chill with the TV on you couldn’t. The top bunk mattress was uncomfortable so we left after one night late on the Saturday as check out was 10am Sunday anyways.

Would preferred the decking area and chairs table to be clean on arrival... Im aware its right next to the field but they know your arriving so this should be cleaned from dirt....inside was fine but outside should be swept and tables and chairs cleaned

Lovely tranquil cabin in a lovely location.

Hot tub was lovely. The cabin was in a lovely location over looking a lake with a lovely fountain. Very picturesque. The cabin its was comfy there was a kitchen as you entered with an island and two stools, next room was a double bed with storage underneath and beyond that a bathroom with working electric shower. On a night was clear Skys and you can see hundreds of stars.

The only thing I would say would be there was no blind up at the bathroom window and none in the kitchen or on the patio door. Although this is in the middle of a field anyone who may have been taking a walk can see in.

Countryside relaxation.

Loved the hot tub, the cozy bed & the beautiful views. Saw a million birds & fish the size of dolphins! Gorgeous sunsets & friendly cows. Lodge was very cozy & in the middle of nowhere so ideal for relaxation.

The lodge needs more crockery & cutlery there wasnt enough so spent lots of time washing up! Theres no sofa, indoor or outdoor, so no comfy place to sit together. Too many laminated signs. Photos were slightly misleading as lodge is not directly on the lake. Thats actually a seperate thing thats available to hire at extra cost. Wasps. Loads of wasps everywhere!

Did not like the bugs, spiders, absolutely covered in spider webs could do with a very good clean, the outside was absolutely covered (looks like it’s not been done for a long time as it wasn’t fresh webs) the endless amount of flys & midges that came in, the toilet was covered in webs and spider (big ones) made it very uncomfortable to be able to stay, we stayed for one night had to leave as we went out for the morning came back to bugs in the bed which was the final straw - I couldn’t settle at all, but we rang booking.com explained they contacted the owners & the owners where very helpful to us so that’s all I could asked for but just spoilt my husbands Suprise birthday weekend unfortunately.

Hidden gem

This was our second stay at this hidden gem. I can not recommend it highly enough. It feels like you have a chance to just totally get away from everything but near enough if you wanted to visit other places. Although we had to leave the same day due to illness we received nothing but help from Paul. I highly recommend Maggie for horse riding at learmouth horse riding. She is amazing with our autistic daughter.

Hottub cosy cabin with extra guests

Was a picturesque location next to a lake. The cabin was cosy. The hot tub was a nice touch. I even had a morning dip while the cows in the field were right next to me. There were some towels and robes provided. The cabin had everything we needed from cutlery, mugs, plates, oven, microwave etc. There was an attempt to help with wasps with a catcher and internal zapper. (Redwood cabin).

Was like being in the film a Bugs life, there was an extraordinary amount of spiders, spider webs, wasps, flies, earwigs and moths. The front door could do with being cleaned and the windows frames. The door also was sticking at times. The stools were uncomfortable, and only 2, even tho the cabin is for 3, we ended up bringing the outdoor chairs inside. The booking was for 3, although the top bunk wasn't made up, and no sheet provided for this. Also, only 2 robes and 2 towels on the beds.

Amazing

Loved everything about it, so peaceful very well spaced out and immaculately kept! Great service and will most definitely be looking for another stay in the future.

In all fairness the only down side to the stay was the weeds round the reservoir, even if cant have it all taken away a good section of it needs cut back! Seen so many fish and a few of them where of a good size, just disappointing the weeds stopped flies from retrieving and the fish would stop following lure or dry fly.

Perfect!

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. The surrounding area is just simply beautiful, really enjoyed our BBQ and breakfast with such a gorgeous view of the lake. Cedar Lodge is stunning with a comfy bed and the hot tub was amazing. Couldn’t recommend this wonderful place enough, Paul even allowed me and my partner to bring our cat (who also thoroughly enjoyed her stay!) which meant a lot to us. Thank you so very much, we will be back!

The properties have all you need. Beautiful get away, hot tub ready on arrival. We’ve stayed a few times and will continue to return. Paul is brilliant. He goes above and beyond anytime I have contacted him regarding personal requests for our stay.

Truly a breath of fresh air

We had a really lovely and relaxing stay. The cottage was well-equipped for a self-catering break, with everything we needed, and the peaceful surroundings made it easy to unwind and reconnect with nature. It truly felt like a little escape from everyday life. The highlight of our stay was definitely the horse riding at the estate – such a memorable experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful countryside retreat.

Amazing night away

Amazing location, we couldn’t believe how amazing it was. Beautiful surroundings and location. Lodge was lovely too, nice and cozy. Hot tub was amazing as well as the chance of using the bbq. Lovely night away and will always recommend 100%! We had car trouble when checking out and Paul was amazing help! Gave us numbers for help and the tools we needed to get sorted. Couldn’t have managed without him and we are very grateful!

A hidden gem.

Lovely peaceful location. Exceptional views.

Spiders webs, shower curtain kept sticking and leaking from the sides. Toilet seat would not stay up. Kitchen tongs appeared to be missing however there were some BBQ ones outside they weren’t suitable for indoor cooking. Wall clock was not working.

Absolutely amazing stay! The lodge is just perfect with everything you could possibly need. Immaculately clean and nice little touches. Totally peaceful location with beautiful scenery!
