We stayed in many apartments and hotels during our 190 km walk on the GR21 and this property was among the very best!

Ample free parking, host Sylvie has clearly put a lot of thought and care into equipping the flat. Easy access to beach and short walk to centre. Patio style doors to small balcony. Free Wi-fi, good shower pressure, well equipped kitchen, ideal for family with bunk beds for children. Lots of guest info booklets, games, TV, dining table, plentiful cutlery, crockery and glassware. Dishwasher. Enjoyed dinner at Barcarolle. Shops nearby. Being out of season not a problem. Haven’t visited St Valery since my coach driving days in the 1980’s when staying at The Altea hotel now the Casino. Weather was idyllic for early April.

As Sylvie’s instructions were in French my O level French was tested. The building has a key box which did not respond to either code but the door was open and the keybox at the flat door functioned fine. The decor and furnishings were clearly intended to offer a nautical theme but a little too much clutter for me. I made the mistake of rush booking a two bedroom flat without realising one room was bunk beds. I offered my son the bed and I did not suit the sofa bed. One genuine concern was plug sockets directly above the sink, a definite no no in the UK. If Sylvie is hosting UK guests maybe a UK news channel would be a bonus. Shower cubicle was small for me, reminded be of an MRI scanner and the plastic sealing strip is easily replaced. I suppose with it’s proximity to the shore and cliffs Seagulls are only to be expected but they do leave a mess on cars and the balcony furniture. I suspect Booking. com has hiked Sylvie’s rates as is the norm. I do not wish to devalue Sylvie’s efforts and attention to detail, it was my fault I booked the wrong accommodation not hers. I’m sure she will host many satisfied guests.

Good Location

Excellent location with plenty of parking. There are two bakeries within 2 blocks.

Noise and lights from the adjacent casino. I was awakened at 4 AM by the honking of car horns and people yelling very loud. There is no working heat in the bathroom. Too many throw rugs which are a tripping hazard. I counted at least 12 rugs. Too many artificial plants with protruding wires that will poke you in the face. Door to balcony door in living room could not be locked. Shutters to the bedroom facing the casino had been removed, letting in light and noise. Water flow on the bathroom and kitchen water faucets needs to be better controlled, because when you turn on the faucet water shoots everywhere. Replace the faucets!

Tout était parfait, mais attention ils organisent des soirées dansantes sur le parking du Casino en face de l’appartement donc cela peut être bruyant par moment, nous y sommes restés que trois jours mais pour des vacances cela peut être gênant pour les familles.

Magnifique appartement avec vue sur mer

L'appartement, son emplacement, sa décoration, sa propreté, ses équipements

Les télévisions dont les télécommandes ne fonctionnaient pas. Obligé d'allumer et régler directement sur le téléviseur...qui ne recevait que la 1ère chaîne. Pas trop gênant pour nous car avec le beau temps que nous avons eu, nous passions la journée à l'extérieur. Mais à revoir pour d'autres locataires

Excellent endroit, excellent séjour.!!

L'appartement est très bien situé avec vue mer et falaise, très propre avec tout le confort, on y sent bien!! On trouve facilement un emplacement gratuit pour se garer en voiture , beaucoup de restaurants et commerces sont aux alentours où on peut y aller à pied .Le casino ( jeu) est juste à côté ( si vous voulez tenter votre chance...🤗).

Nous avons aimé la proximité de tout, le confort, la vue sur mer et un appartement agréable et chaleureux

Petit bémol pour le face à face avec le casino mais les doubles rideaux sont une bonne alternative à l'intimité même si nous sommes des personnes qui aiment avoir une vue pour ne pas se sentir enfermées
