Find peace and quiet in a secluded, 140-year-old farmhouse on eighty acres of managed prairie and flowers. This family-sized property is perfect for extended family and photographers who love to shoot birds and pollinators! Property near Walnut Grove, MN of Little House on the Prairie fame. This is the perfect retreat spot for avid photographers and nature lovers.
This home was homesteaded in 1874 by Johannes Jensen. He was a contemporary of Charles and Caroline Ingalls of Little House on the Prairie fame, who were also homesteading in that area. You can observe an unnatural looking hill beyond the end of the driveway that is the remnants of the dugout Johannes lived in prior to the house being built.

We visited the area for a wedding, and needed a big place for our family. Caroline's place was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of space for us to spread out. She was a reaponsive and helpful host. Checking in and out was a breeze and we had everything we needed. Will stay again!

Beautiful home, beautiful scenery. Loved the rural
location, very peaceful with plenty of area for the kiddos to run around outside. Several small towns close by
if you need groceries or want to dine in or do take out (I highly recommend Bonnie & Clyde's in Westbrook). House was clean, beds were very comfortable and host was quick to respond when we had questions. The perfect "halfway" destination for our Nebraska families to meet up with our Wisconsin family.
