If you’re looking for a place to stay near SJO that feels like a true home away from home, look no further than Edward & Familia Inn. The studio-style room was small but incredibly well thought out — everything you could possibly need was right there: a cooktop, coffee maker, tea kettle, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, a mini fridge with freezer, and air conditioning. But what really set this place apart was the atmosphere. The room featured a unique enclosed viewing area — imagine lying in bed and gazing through a picture window into a beautifully lit space with rocks, blue lighting, and lush plants. It was calming, serene, and completely unexpected. I loved it. The property itself is small and family-owned, with a gorgeous outdoor common patio area filled with plants and comfortable seating. Security was excellent — locked entrance, very safe and private. But the real highlight? Edward himself. From airport pickup to drop-off, local suggestions to flexible shuttling around the area, he went above and beyond at every turn. He is warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his guests. I felt looked after from the moment I arrived. If you want the big resort experience, this isn’t your place. But if you want to feel truly welcomed, comfortable, and cared for by a local family who puts their heart into everything they do — this is exactly where you want to be. I cannot recommend Edward & Familia Inn highly enough. Five stars, without hesitation.

It was very clean and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. Very cute little facility. Parking was very secure, although a little bit tight.

The bathroom worked fine, but it was a little tight on the stool, not a big deal.

We stayed at Edward‘s place at the beginning and end of our Costa Rica trip and were greeted very warmly by Edward and his family. The room was well equipped, the location convenient from the airport and Edward‘s communication, flexibility and warmth really made us feel welcome - 10/10, would definitely recommend!
