Maria's Dream House

It seems to be the only tourist accommodation in the village with the word ‘dream’ in its name. And it lives up to its name: essentially, it is a three-storey space — a huge terrace with a sofa and armchairs on the roof, accessed by a spiral staircase (with romantic sunsets and views of two sea bays), the main floor has a spacious living room and kitchen, as well as another veranda with a dining table, and the lower floor has two bedrooms and a shower room. The photos don't do justice to the beauty and spaciousness of the place. Very warm, hospitable and caring hosts: when a downpour broke out while we were out, they ‘rescued’ our clothes, which were drying on the upper terrace, and brought them down under the roof. The host Nikki was always available and answered any questions. I have been to Greece many, many times and this was my first time in Corfu: I did not regret anything — the hospitality was top-notch, the holiday accommodation was cosy, and it was in a village where local people also live, not just a place with hotels, bars and tourists. The local taverns (especially the neighbouring Strofi) are excellent, and the staff are friendly everywhere. It's a 15-minute walk down to the wild Fieroula beach, which is rocky but very romantic and has emerald water. You have to climb a steep slope to get back up, but you can also drive there.

This is not about what we didn't like, but about what one need to be prepared for and love if they rent this house. In general, we do not recommend renting accommodation in Pentati without a car: buses run twice a day on weekdays, and you'll need a 40-minute walk along a serpentine road or through a little forest to the nearest shop and another bus stop in Agios Gordios, where also the best sandy beach on the island is located. It is generally difficult to get around Corfu without a car, but do not rent a car that is too large for Pentati and similar villages: the winding roads are very narrow, with cliffs hanging overhead. In addition, mobile phone and Internet reception is very poor in the village and in this part of the island in general. Therefore, you cannot count on a 5G signal on your phone or high-speed Wi-Fi anywhere in this village, unless the owners install alternative satellite Internet. And one more thing: the spiral staircases in the house are extremely narrow and steep, with small steps. For some, this may seem like a challenge! But none of this bothered us, and we enjoyed absolutely everything. We hope to come back!

Great clean spacious house Well equipped and beautiful roof balcony overlooking the bay and the village.

The bedroom are on the lower floor and its a bit difficult to get up and down for not very long young people. We didn’t have any problems but for old people with walking and climbing issues it does.

Gut gelegen in einem typisch griechischen Dorf, schöne Dachterrasse und top ausgestattet

zum Strand ist immer etwas Fahrzeit einzuplanen, ebenso zu einem gut sortierten Supermarkt

Ein Fleckchen für sich alleine - wunderbar zur Entschleunigung. Gepflegt, top ausgestattet - sogar Waschmittel- Drops standen bereit - mit großzügigem Wohnbereich ( zusätzlicher Charme: helles Oberlicht über dem Sofa), Ruhe und einer stets freundlichen und toleranten Nachbarschaft. Beide Terrassen der Traum- wie bereits vielfach beschrieben in den Kommentaren. Tolle Tavernen im Ort - mit Präferenz der Strophi- Taverne gleich um die Ecke. Die Kommunikation mit Nikki war sehr gut und sie ist sehr bemüht, gute Lösungen für ihre Gäste zu finden. Herr Costa wohnt gleich nebenan und war stets ansprechbar. Wir haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Nichts zu bemängeln. Einzige Anmerkung: mir persönlich war das Bett leider zu hart ( mein Mann fand es dafür genau richtig;).
