The perfect staycation on the Wild Atlantic

The house was so well equipped - perfect for a self catering getaway. We didn’t want for anything the whole weekend and we’re slow to leave the property. The outdoor area was so cool - we had a lovely evening cooking pizza and filling hot tub!

Cosy and remote with stunning views

The location is breathtaking, a little slice of remote paradise, yet with lots of facilities and outings accessible nearby by car. The lodge has a really rustic charm, we loved stopping to chat with the ponies. The welcome basket was a nice touch. It is warm and cosy, even with Storm Floris raging outside. Spanish Point is a stones throw away and you’re a few minutes drive from the town. The outdoor bath and shower add to the charm.

The combi oven took a little thought to operate but was fine once we worked it out. The sofa bed is as you would expect a sofa bed to be, but the main bed is lovely and cosy.

Fabulous stay very comfortable, first class accommodation 😊

Beautiful property, so well done , bed was very comfortable. Loved the hot tub and so quick and easy to fill , with the added bonus of the seaweed. Pity more accommodation is not done to this standard.

Would have love a straight forward little microwave for my porridge. I’m afraid I didn’t have the patience to work out the oven combo microwave 😆. And 2 tiny things a small clothes horse for swimwear to dry, and Nail towel ladder to the wall nearly pulled it on top of myself 🤣 . None of these things spoiled our stay though .

The most amazing cottage

From the second you travel up the sweeping drive, you are blown away by this handsome cottage with its incredible view. You are still very impressed with the deceptive space, blend of stunning old and new interiors, and amazing high standards. No expense was spared during its renovations. We even had chickens! Bay and beaches just across the field. Also, the professional and friendly hosts left a lovely message for us before and during our stay.

Gate Lodge is immaculate!

The Gate Lodge was immaculate, inside & out! Amazing attention to detail & beautiful decor throughout. I wish i lived there!!! There was a lovely welcome basket and make sure you find the seaweed for the hot tub!

Only one small thing to mention is limited space for storage of clothing. But the entire place is so beautiful. That you should forgive this!

Breathtaking Atlantic retreat!

The cottage was so tastefully appointed, cosy, and comfortable with underfloor heating. The outdoor tub was such a fabulous treat with amazing views and sounds of the sea....so many lovely touches, an outdoor pizza oven, great board games, a welcome hamper, nespresso machine, a seaweed pack for the tub....

Flawless space, impeccable views, relaxing outdoor tub, a truly special stay!

Beautiful design, incredible views from all sides, every detail of the property was perfectly executed. The outdoor tub was such a delight! As was the bucket shower and outdoor shower. The owners left delicious bread, jams and butter, and added holiday decor for our Christmas stay!

This cottage is everything as advertised. A real 'pamper-yourself' getaway in West Clare.

Loved all the features of this thoughtfully renovated cottage. The welcome pack was a lovely touch.

This is an exceptional experience, don’t miss it.

Luxurious escape for a couple with a small dog. The lodge is on a farm with extensive vegetable gardens to explore and interesting animals such as 2 alpacas who watched our activities in the outdoor hot tub with bemusement. There was a wonderful loaf of soda bread in the welcome pack with other goodies and pink lemonade. A stunning seaview.

Issues with hot water were resolved as soon as possible. There is no dishwasher The combined oven/ microwave was unfamiliar to operate so a neff manual would be helpful in the guests pack. We researched it on the internet before we could use the appliance. There are no coasters or place mats and not enough tea towels. We did not like the portuguese crockery. It looked v chic but was not very functional and hard to use safely for outdoor dining or washing up. We would have been more comfortable with simple plain white from Dunnes Stores! An outdoor barbecue perhaps.
