I’d booked only 30 minutes before arriving and showed up almost two hours early due to a transport issue — yet instead of stress, I was greeted with pure Greek hospitality. Athena — or “Nana,” as she kindly offers for those who can’t pronounce her Greek name — welcomed me with a bright smile, a basket of fresh linen, and cleaning supplies in hand. She apologised again and again that the room wasn’t ready, even though I was the early one. That moment alone told me everything: she is generous, warm, and genuinely proud of the home she shares with her guests. She let me use the bathroom to freshen up, handed me an extra beach towel, stocked the fridge with cold drinks, and pointed me toward the best chicken gyros pita in town. She shared local secrets about where to swim, where to wander, and how to find everything I might need. Her lovely husband even helped transport some groceries for me at the last minute. It felt less like checking into accommodation and more like being welcomed by family. When I returned, my room was spotless, cool, beautifully authentic, and instantly inviting. And the location? Absolutely unbeatable. I stepped out my door and within metres the water was splashing at my feet. The entire town — the bars, the boats, the boutiques, the famous snack bars, and even the grocery stores — was right at my fingertips. Everything was central, easy, and effortless. I could swim at the beach without paying for a club, visit every store, grab snacks, train at the local gym, and wander the waterfront at sunset. Chora Rooftop isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a lifestyle. Jackie O’ and Porta are a two‑minute stroll away, perfect for a night out or meeting someone special.
