This place has potential! Sadly, it’s not quite realized. My wife described it best….its basic. The furniture is decent, including reasonably comfortable upstairs king-sized beds (which is very important). However, the furnishings in most of the house are low-tier or have slip covers, etc. Everything works fine but it’s just what it is….basic. Don’t expect more. We arrived to find the hot tub had been left open by someone before our arrival. It was full of leaves and too cold to use. We contacted the host and they were quick to respond, even late that night. They had someone out the next day to look at it which was great. We stayed for three nights and it didn’t get up above 100F in temperature until the last night we were there. The hot tub works but they don’t tell you in the listing that it takes hours to heat a few degrees (that comes in the fine print of the later contract you get after booking). I appreciate that they tried to get this fixed ASAP but we booked this place specifically because it had a hot tub and only got to use it one of the three nights. No offer was made to try to make up for this by the host which is a bummer. I realize that they didn’t leave it open but we certainly didn’t get what we paid for. The good things: clean, good location, beds upstairs were decent, host very responsive to issues and did make immediate effort to fix thingsThe bad things: hot tub heats SLOW, furnishings basic, hike to the lake is for the adventurous soul only.

I was with a group of friends. We came to town to attend the famed War Eagle Craft Fair. We stayed for five nights. The positives: Wonderful location Great view of the lake Well-stocked kitchen and laundry room Nice decor and cleanliness Excellent communication with property owner Loved the hot tub and fire pit! The negatives: Microwave didn’t work (it was replaced the morning we left) Deck is dangerous. (They were clear about that, but even the upper deck parts not affected by the tornado have boards sticking up and are warped. As an older group of ladies, it was VERY dangerous. All decks need replacing.) Lower sliding glass door doesn’t open or close very well. It needs replacing. We decided not to use that exit as none of us could successfully open, close or lock it. The driveway to the garage is very steep. It slants towards the garage doors and barely fits two cars. Thankfully, there was a single car port up above where we parked our main vehicle that was relatively flat and safe. The neighbors directly across the street were quite loud and nosy. Thankfully, we were gone most of each day. The downstairs twin beds were not comfortable. The mattresses are great for children, but definitely not comfortable for adults. The trail down to the lake is treacherous. Overall, the property served its purpose as a home base for our craft fair adventure. However, if we actually were at the house for a longer period of time during the days it wouldn’t have been comfortable.

This home, property, and location were absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a place more adequately stocked with everything we could possibly need. Kitchen had everything we needed and more, great appliances to go with. Great bathrooms, with plenty of hot water, which is a big deal, especially with daughters. They also came stocked with supplies, should someone forget soaps etc. We brought towels and beach towels, we didn’t need to, huge stock of each. The view is beautiful, boat ramps everywhere, and a place to park our boat. Hot tub was a great bonus for us. We will definitely save this location for future trips.
