Really enjoyed Gaucin

Location good, parking was close by and nice towels. The room was clean but the decor tired. Good communication.

Room smelled damp and bathroom drains also had a bad smell. Other guests spoke about the tranquility, but we had constant noise from above and beside us, no insulation. I agree with other guests that there should be at least hand wash supplied in the bathroom - Booking.com rates it as 4 star?

Poor hygiene, dingy apartment, totally overpriced for what you get.

The village

Honestly a disgrace in relation to price:quality. Very poor hygiene and they refused to provide soap when asked. Main space had crumbs and leftover food on some surfaces. Some cupboard doors are hanging off the hinges which makes it feel dingy. When showering, you have to hold the shower head as the fixed angle doesn’t work. No soap or any cleaning product to be found bar washing up liquid. No brush/sweeping brush and no proper towel to dry plates/cutlery which we had to wash before using. No shampoo or conditioner. No hand towel for bathroom. We asked for soap and they said it was a “no frills service” as its “prices were so low”. We paid 225 for 3 nights. Soap? We booked a baja/ground floor apartment and there is 0 view of anything except a wall, we thought there would at least be access to a terrace with views but they’ll all for the other apartments. Less important but if you “provide a kitchen” with things like a cafetière but no coffee, pans but no oil, it’s deceiving. Absolutely would not recommend for the money. We were astounded by the refusal to provide soap. They clearly make a fortune off tourists and sell a false image in the photos and description to do so.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful location.

Lovely, clean apartment, exactly as in the photos. Great location in the village plus only 30-40 minutes drive away from some lovely beaches. The village has enough little places to eat but without losing the traditional village feel. The small pool is great for cooling down and there is also a good, free, municipal pool at the other end of the village, only about a 15 minute walk. The communication was excellent- I got an immediate response to my messages.

Comfortable for our week-long stay in Gaucin. The nearby hiking is excellent.

The cleaning staff is very kind and helpful. The top-floor apartment we rented had a gorgeous living-room-and-balcony view all the way to the Rock of Gibraltor and the coast of Africa. In March, when we were here, the weather was clear but chilly, and the apartment would have been cold without using three portable heaters (one gas, two electric).

Before staying here, know that you must park your car at least 100 m away. And know that, if you rent the top-floor unit with the smashing view, you must negotiate three flights of steps in a narrow corridor. ... Simon, the host, was very responsive to one request. But another time (and we had only two requests), he didn't respond at all. Yoohoo! Simon! Are you there? Can you hear us? Come in, Simon, come in. Earth to Simon! ... Some of the nonstick cookware was over-used, unhealthy, and should have been trashed long ago. ... The bed was typical for Spain: hard.

Superb

Location within the village with good parking within an easy walk. The views from our apartment were outstanding and you could see all the way to the coast on a clear day. The apartment was very comfortable and we even had a log excellent WiFi. We had a minor plumbing issue in our first 24hrs which was dealt with very quickly and professionally by our hosts Simon and Clare. Outstanding service. Highly recommended and would stay again

It was too cold in the apartment with only 1 electric heater (we stayed 2 nights in February). There was a very bad smell in the bathroom (I don't know if we were the first guests again after several months?)

Location good but accom not. Fortunate knew people staying elsewhere in Gaucin, spent free time & meals there.

NO handsoap anywhere - pretty basic! Placed smelled - not sure when last occupied (I stayed end of Jan) Poor heat in a cold at night place; space heater only inadeq for space and intermittent so never could heat 1 room + bath space. Complt on latter resulted in a FAN being left outside door. When given lemons... I used to help eliminate the smell, at least. Unit 2.

Great location, walking distance to all bars and restaurants. Quiet, peaceful area. Helpful host. Beds were comfy. Super shower. Nice and clean. Lovely view from the terrace.

Could have been doing with either a proper curtain or blind to help keep the sun/heat out of the lounge. We didn’t cook, but if we had it would have been helpful to have basics provided eg olive oil, bin bags etc

Great accommodation, housed four of us adequately. Good value.

It would be good if you could either provide a key safe for each apartment or make it clear the key safe cannot be used and to provide more than one key for 4 adults. We had to unplug the kettle to plug in the toaster. Nowhere really for 4 people to recline in the day, just one sofa. Kettle spits water everywhere when pouring. Not much in the way of cutlery or bowls. If we'd wanted to eat there it would have been difficult.

Finde de paz en Gaucin

Muy bien decorado, con buen gusto. Todo limpio y en buen estado, toallas nuevas, sabanas y mantas todo limpio. Es un pueblo muy tranquilo. El anfitrión nos dio las facilidades que necesitamos.

La casa son 3 plantas a tener en cuenta para personas con problema de movilidad: en la de abajo hay una habitación doble y un baño, en la planta del medio una habitación de matrimonio y otro baño y en la de arriba la terraza, el salón y la cocina. Todas las estancias estaban muy bien y funcionales.

La ubicación y vistas muy buenas! Muy tranquilo y acogedor.

Para 4 dias solo un juego de toallas me pareció insuficiente, al final me encontré con las limpiadoras y les pedi mas. El accesso al cajetin de las llaves fue un poco difícil, se quedaba trabado. Despues de varios intentos pude abrirlo y recoger las llaves.

El pueblo es muy bonito rodeado de naturaleza

Para empezar la casa decía que tenía una estufa tipo chubesqui y lo que tenía es un calentador de aceite, no había agua caliente y estuvimos 2 días sin podernos duchar hasta que lo arreglaron. El dueño de la propiedad un tal Simón no habla español y su teléfono es de Reino Unido con lo cual al no existir roaming es un cargo adicional. La tostadora estaba averiada y la puerta de entrada estaba hinchada por el agua y costaba la misma vida abrirla. Lo único bueno de la estancia fue el pueblo que es muy bonito y rodeado de naturaleza.

Apartamento perfecto para dos personas, con terraza que da al sur por lo que tienes sol prácticamente todo el día. Tiene un parking público a 50 metros de la casa. Y el dueño del apartamento muy amable. Cualquier consulta por mail nos contestaba muy rápido y nos dejó hacer el checkout más tarde.
