Overall the experience of staying at this VRBO was positive. The location was easily accessible and the home was well stocked with towels, paper products, kitchen supplies (pots, pans, mugs etc.). This is an older home which has been upgraded nicely to include modern comforts but still retains a rustic, comfortably lived in vibe. That said, there were two issues we felt worthy of mentioning. The cleanliness was somewhat substandard. I’m not one to take a white glove to window ledges or door jambs, by any means. However, there was a significant amount of dust, hair, and some type of desiccated bugs under the beds. The shower was in need of some TLC as there was a significant amount of black mildew on the floor. The rest of the house was reasonably clean though. The second issue, which is largely beyond the owners control was related to noise and/or privacy. You can pretty much hear any sounds made by anyone, anywhere in the house. Fortunately, the road doesn’t have much traffic, but if you don’t sleep like a log, you may be awake occasionally at 3-4 am when a loud truck goes by. Not a deal breaker for us though and some may even like that they can always hear their kids in the next room. Overall, if the cleaning was improved; I’d recommend this place for a weekend getaway.

Very convenient for attending a wedding at the Fussel Farm.

Very peaceful and private. The street is quite busy and noisy but the view of the stars and the orchestra from the bull frogs around the pond made you forget about that. Was a nice quick get away!

Beautifully landscaped. Owner responded immediately to our one question. Bedding and beds appeared clean and were comfortable. Bunk beds were easily accessible, but very close to ceiling and upper bunk. Do not recommend if you have any level of claustrophobia. Bathroom and kitchen were not clean. They weren’t gross, but they weren’t clean either. Grease, crumbs, etc on stove and toaster. Cleaned shower myself before we used it, but musty smell remained. Plenty of towels and washcloths were provided. There were multiple dead bumblebees on the floor inside when we arrived and we continued to have various crawling visitors throughout our stay - including wasps. Not sure where they came from, but they weren’t coming in through the front door. I prefer my “nature” outdoors. Back deck would have been pleasant and has a table and chairs, but the chair cushions weren’t clean so we didn’t use this area. This is the only table seating available here. All interior doors are sliding barn doors which knock against the walls - a problem when you are sharing a bathroom at night - constant noise. Reading this, it seems like a negative review, and it isn’t meant to be completely negative. We did enjoy our stay and the little house suited our purpose. Having a full size refrigerator and the ability to make breakfast was great: but I would have expected a higher level of clean and less crawling visitors.
