Gardenia Springs - La Finca Buritaca

I spent two nights with my daughter at the hotel which is nice, ideally located and has a pretty good restaurant. They were only a few parties maybe 10 people max overall. We speak french and english and were surprised not a single staff member spoke english. The hotel grounds are gorgeous and they have lots of domesticated and wild animals. Going to the beach by kayaking for 20 min over Buritaca stream is a wonderful experience for the nature you will see on the way. The beach itself is beautiful but not really suitable for swimming because of waves and currents. But the main issue is service: the columbian staff is trying their best but maybe isn't properly supported/trained: for example there is no espresso machine so you're left with only drip coffee which is disappointing for an hotel in this range. Then it's powdered milk or some horrible american creamer. At the restaurant , things are inconsistent and we waited one hr for our dinner to arrive after ordering quickly. Many items were not available or partially as for example the incredibly delicious brownie supposed to come with ice cream they didn't have nevertheless charging us the full item price, basic coconut lemonade not available because there is no coconut which makes no sense in Columbia and other lemonades one day coming in a big size glass and the next day in one a third of the orignal one. Last the small water bottles sold 6,000 columbian pesos are a rip off and a total environmental disaster. It's disappointing as it could be an amazing place with proper overlook from an hospitality industry professionnal.
