My stay at Beyul Retreat was nothing short of magical. Nestled by the riverside, the cabin offered an unparalleled blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The serene sound of the river was a constant, soothing companion throughout our stay, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The staff at Beyul Retreat were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
One of the highlights of our stay was the bonfire under the stars. The clear night sky, dotted with countless stars, provided a breathtaking backdrop as we gathered around the fire. It was a perfect setting for storytelling and making lasting memories.
If you're looking for a serene getaway with excellent service and an unforgettable riverside experience, Beyul Retreat is the place to be. I can't wait to return!

We got there late but the key was waiting for us with a map to the cabin. There was a huge snow storm that night and the power went out but it was restored by morning. The staff was really helpful and communicated very well! It made all the things that happened seemed like it was just part of the adventure. We loved it, just wish we could have stayed another night! Definitely recommend!

It is in the middle of nowhere, closest town is 1 hour drive, make sure to bring your own food but the views are definitely worthy and the staff is very attentive.

Very hot in the room at night no ac or fan. No water second night, it was repaired by the morning. Very nice atmosphere and secluded. Go prepared with snacks and food.
My girlfriend and I are from Colorado and wanted to try a visit to somewhere we had never been and found this resort on the website. We were very impressed with the facility staff and location. The hot tub was wonderful as was the fireplace. My only critique is the road to the resort so short is steep and was not passable in my 2 Wheel Dr. car. I’m sure during summer months this would not be an issue, but was during winter in the road in snow. Ultimately, it really wasn’t a big deal as there is parking down by the main road and we walk the rest of the way which was only a few hundred yards. A four-wheel-drive vehicle would be ideal if you’re going in the winter.

Pleasant stay. Staff was awesome. The babbling brook in the back yard was stress-melting. Good overall, but the furnace was broke and had to learn to make fire on the fly to keep out the cold, night air. No decanter for the Mr. Coffee equals no coffee in the morning unless going up to the office. Meals way over-priced, but being an hour from other sources, kind of over a barrel to eat there. Next time, will bring our own coffee maker and some food to cook in the mini-kitchen. Good overall. No TV, no WiFi (except in the office) meant a great opportunity to disconnect from technology. Good to get out of the city and see nature, but could have been better.

Be sure to read all the details- this place is definitely not for everyone! We were completely disappointed because the description was not clear enough and the accommodation were not at all what we expected. It was extremely disappointing because we were looking forward to a nice family getaway.

Pros - It's gorgeous and quiet/remote. Quick/Easy to check in and you get left alone/have privacy. Friendly dog(s) - Atlas was there to greet us at our car when we parked. The kitchen in the Aspen lodge was stocked with all sorts of cooking tools/utensils. Would definitely be amazing to return in the spring/summer and see all the amenities too.Cons - It's a bit tricky driving up Frying Pan Road after it's snowed, but that's not their fault. Also, on the property right before the main office is a somewhat steep little hill that we saw a Rav4 get stuck on temporarily due to hesitating in the snow near the top of its ascent. (Just a warning to visitors to expect it and don't take it timidly) Also, the oven wasn't working in the cabin but luckily we had a microwave to fall back on for the lasagna we brought from Costco. I'm sure it had only recently gone out and they weren't yet aware, so I don't hold it against them.

BeyulI’ll start by saying that the stay was better than expected in most ways. I knew that the Diamond J (old name for this place) had been around for a long time so I was expecting a more run-down unit. We rented a cabin with a kitchen and it had everything we needed including salt and pepper. It was obvious that some major updates had been done as there was no shortage of electric outlets, and even some USB ports. The window coverings were modern, clean, effective and easy to use. The bed, down comforter and pillows were super cozy and comfy! The towels were thick and large and the toiletries were high quality. The cabin itself was spacious and clean with a large eating table and cushioned chairs. There were lots of windows with screens to enjoy the fresh country air. And the setting is beautiful, with hiking trails on the property and nearby, a canoe and paddle boat on a pond, and other activities available. There was also a small store with wine, soda, kombucha, beer and various other foods, many of which were gluten-free and high quality. Now for the problems: The freezer in the fridge was frozen shut- apparently there is no checklist for the servicing staff to look for these issues. There were doggie poop bags and bins for the filled bags in several places. These were well used which was good, but the disposal bins were full, resulting in an unpleasant odor that wafted into our cabin. And finally, there was a loud ‘event’ during our stay at night.

Magical place up the Frying Pan River 40-min from Basalt! As advertised, this "hidden land" is truly a place of "wild solitude" & "personal refuge." Cozy cabins are sweet with front porch, comfy bed, small bathroom with shower, coffee maker, refridge & woodburning stove. Hikes & walks are out your door up hill, in colorful meadows or by reflective ponds. Ancient rocks, river music, aspen trees and artistic paths offer meditative moments and delightful pause. Fox, deer, marmots & hawks abound. Bring your own food/drink. Safe & relaxing for solo travelers.

The place was beautiful, but it was too far from anything. On Hotels.com it said 13 miles from Aspen. Well that must be as a bird flies because it took over an hour to get there from Aspen.

Hard to find a more beautiful spot. Snug cabins were really neat. A few bugs and a mouse, but that’s part of having a real wilderness area nearby. Hiking and bike trail is right out the back door. Wild raspberry bushes around too. Ripe august 5
