Property staff were very helpful. The waterpark was amazing and we were able to fully enjoy it with our 2 year old. (Other resorts have age/height restrictions). Other pools are well maintained and have a “resort-like” feel. Restaurant was very good too.

The waterpark opens only on weekends. Beachside has a short sand strip and many rocks. The minimarket has little variety and is quite pricey, but you can plan a trip to the nearest town to get groceries.

After a long travel with our two children the arrival and welcoming didn’t go smoothly. We a weren’t allowed to enter the property gate before the person with the key arrived. Then they argued for a while before we got to go to the room. The people living above us had a leakage in the bathroom that gave us a wet roof and wet floor in the bathroom . It would have been nice to have some basics (that we usually find when we arrive somewhere) like paper towels, drying towel in the kitchen, some coffee, salt was empty. We had a cold bottle of water in the fridge which was great.

The location was really good. The apartment is located in a fun, family-oriented resort with access to a large pool, own beach, water park, near a national park with caves, there are other facilities such as a mini-market, restaurant, beach bar, etc. It was a really fun place for the family to chill for a few days and do a bit of walking through the jungle and along the shore. We also liked the lady, Lucia, who checked us in. She was very friendly.

First of all, the price was not transparent at all. After booking the place for X price, we were informed that we also have to pay taxes, electricity, cleaning costs and internet separately, which eventually added up another 60% of the original price and it became much more expensive than any other accommodation we had in DR. Secondly, the apartment is in a horrible state. The first impression is good, it has this oceany-look, lots of decorations, but once you really look around, you will realize it is a very old, musty, mouldy, smelly place, the wood is eaten by termites (literally, they were falling out of the wood on the floor), it is not well taken care of and in a desperate need of renovation (and termite extermination!). The TV was not working. The bed was very uncomfortable, not to mention the sofa which was sold as another sleeping place but was a real horror to sleep on (not only uncomfortable, but squeaky). The cleanliness of the apartment was also very doubtful and there were not even any cleaning supplies to clean ourselves (at least a broom to sweep the floor would come in handy). Sheets we got had holes in them and I was doubtful whether they were even clean. Internet was provided as an extra and does not automatically come with the apartment but the wifi signal was extremely weak and slow and it did not function properly. Overall, I had a very bad impression of this place and advice to anyone travelling to choose literally any other place in this resort but this apartment.
