    We took a four day mini vacation up to Duluth and then went further up the North Shore of Lake Superior as far up as Grand Marais. Our first day and evening was in Duluth. The prices down on the water in the Canal Park area where we have always stayed in the past were beyond what we were willing to pay, so I looked into other alternatives and doing the Tru by Hilton a few miles up the hill. This was a fabulous choice! The bed was so comfortable, and the room was spotless. Our view was of the woods which was super nice and it was very quiet. We received hot/cold continental breakfasts for the two of us, which was an excellent value. Their coffee choice was outstanding. My husband found a mountain biking trail right behind the hotel, which made it extra fun for him, as he used it both in Day 1 and the morning of Day 2. This also gave me extra time to read and relax. The facility has a nice pool, fitness room, free pool table, games, puzzles, and amazing options for seating and lounging in the main huge common areas down by the check-in/lounge area. They also have a food area for purchasing snacks and other things, but a Dollar Store right up the street as well. A Mall is a bit further up the hill as well as lots of eating options in that area. Definitely will stay here again.
