I stayed in Room 4, which I think may have been is one of the nicest in the hotel — bright, comfortable, and with beautiful views over the green hillside, the pebble beach and the ocean. It was very peaceful and a lovely spot to relax. The location at the mouth of the inlet was perfect for watching the world go by, and the room and bathroom were both clean and comfortable, with lots of charm for such an old building.
Service was a little mixed. Staff were polite but many not particularly friendly, and communication could have been better — for example, the water was turned off for a few hours on the first morning without anyone letting me know - I only realised when I was standing in the shower. Overall though, it’s a charming place in a beautiful setting and a pleasant stay despite a few small issues.

Love the position..we could see the sea sat up in bed 😄

I booked this room to attend my friend’s wedding in Lyme Regis.
The location was amazing but the downside was there was no parking and I had to pay for 24 hour parking in a nearby car park.
The bed was very comfortable and it was great to have bath sheet towels rather than just bath towels.
The shower was an over the bath shower which although adequate would be better if it was a proper shower.

Was not really for me, the locations is lovely and the central car park not too far away. However, it was not made clear was that the bathroom while only for my use, was actually located across a shared landing. I prefer an ensuite.

A very quaint Hotel with quirky features. Noisy floor boards so you could hear people moving around.
Food was good but little more expensive than normal Green King prices.
Recently stayed in a Wetherspoons Hotel as well, who provided a lot more tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc in the room. Would be an idea to increase at the Anchor.
Great location with some on site parking but we couldn't use it so park on the road.
Would recommend.

Quick easy reception. Friendly welcome. Clean room with awesome sea view. Great food. Comfortable bed. Little tired room but I think it suits Seaton and Beer being a little quaint and British! Love it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the anchor, the pubs location is a stones throw from the bay and seemed to be at the heart of the village, our room was really good, big comfortable bed and a fantastic sea view, big shout out the the wonderful staff who all made us feel welcome andooked after us so well, food was exceptional in particular the breakfast that was amazing

Room was great but access is tricky due to narrow and winding stairs. Lovely views over the water and town and excellent service.

No lift to upper floors... Not a problem for us but a cosideration for those with disabilities

Fabulous location and lovely staff. Interesting menu and well prepared food. Although basically fine the room was a bit tired looking.
Would have been happy had it not been quite so expensive. Have stayed in better for less.

Our Room 3 on the first floor was comfortable and clean with an impressive view to the beach and surrounding hills.
The stairs were a challenge being steep and with hard edged treads with no rails on the top flight partly because of a door at the top of the stair opening out onto the stair.
On our second night my wife was frightened and her scalp burned by the shower water suddenly going from warm to boiling hot. The shower cubicle was filled with steam making it difficult for my wife to find and turn of the water supply tap.
The hotel’s response to this was offhand trying to stress it was an isolated incident and seemingly uninterested in the effect on my wife.
She will be making a formal complaint to the owners Green King.

Great location and good breakfast. Comfortable room. We had dinner there which was very good. I had the salmon dish and my other half had the steak. We both had desserts which were very good. The hash brown didn't look very appetising as it was yellow and a bit soggy so I didn't eat that as it could have done with a bit more cooking time.

We had a good break for 2 nights. Food good, staff friendly and service mostly good. Rooms were clean.
No on site parking a bit confusing at first. We paid for parking for 3 hours at nearby long stay car park in village. Then moved car nearer on road and overnight back to long stay park. Total cost for 2 night stay £9.

My room was not clean. The bathroom curtains were hanging off. Dust all round the room, on the carpet. Headboard dusty etcAfter a day out, we got back to find my bed had not been made. The bathroom had not been cleaned. Also the floor had not been hovered. The only thing that had been done, was my towels had been changed.I did complain, and had money reimbursed. But even that was a mission, as the Inn could not do an direct refund. So had to be sent to head office, which took over a week.

A very average stay , firstly I must mention the long stay car park is not particularly close , secondly the rooms are all up steep stairs which become worse with luggage . If you have mobility problems then avoid it . Covid policy changing daily with two staff members very very bolshy in their attitude towards customers in policing it . Breakfast just about satisfactory and the daily food menu is varied and good . Great view from bedrooms . I wouldn’t return .

Long delay waiting at reception for somebody to come and check us in. Staff definately need more training, the place appeared to be run by kids on a busy saturday and our breakfast order was not handed in, but was sorted by a helpful lady the following morning. However, a lovely hotel in a delightful setting did not disappoint.
