    The apartments/rooms were ill equipped, no wifi in the rooms. Getting a taxi was always a challenge. The only grace was the nice view of the ocean.

    This is very obviously NOT a 4 star hotel. There were damaged floors and walls in the room and very dated furniture and decor. Most importantly, there is no air conditioning in the entire hotel and no screens on the windows or patio doors. The choice you have is a very hot sleepless night with the windows closed, or waking up with eyes swollen shut from mosquito bites. Take your pick. We didn't sleep much. The staff explained that mosquitos are not usually a problem and blamed it on the high humidity. They installed some kind of bug repellent device in an outlet, which gave no relief. We stayed because of the view, the location in the village of Prazeres, and the hope that something could be done about the problems. In fact we were too tired from lack of sleep to move elsewhere.
