Lorna Cottage Sandy Point

I stayed at Lorna’s Cottage for one week. Communications with the property before, during and after were excellent. I was able to check-in early, which was an added plus. Three of the amenities that I look for in this area of the world include good A/C, strong internet and a generally quiet environment. All three were excellent. The only annoyance, which is uncontrollable by the property, was the wake up calls by a group of neighbouring roosters, beginning at 4-5 am. Otherwise, the cottage is in a good location and my stay there was excellent.

The home is very comfortable with a terrific bathroom space. Location is walking distance to the airport and minutes away from crown point. I do highly recommend the folllowing: Regular pest control and ensure cleaning crew does a walk through before house is occupied by guests. The communication and access is too troubling when traveling long hours to get to the place. There needs to be clear, easy instructions since guests are likely not locals so the less difficulty the better. The house needs garbage bags, new dish sponges for each visitor, and kitchen towels. As a nice thing to do, there should be a fresh bag of ice in the freezer for each visitor. I do recommend staying at Lorna's place. It's very safe and in a quiet location with the ocean walking distance away.

#1 SAFELY protected by a keypad, a lock, & padlock #2 LOCATION is walking distance from the airport, and the beach, as well as the Store Bay vendors (Marcus fruit stand with coconuts & pineapple chow highly recommended!) Then just another 10 min walk to the main strip of restaurants and a doubles stand #3 COMMUNICATION could definitely be better... On the positive, Franka & Gerard had a whatsapp thread. 2nd they gave an exhaustive guide with everything from entry & web access, to rules & emergency contacts, so... questions we had about turning on water and taking out garbage were *all answered there*. However... this is the first time we've waited for several hrs (or a whole day) for a response from a host. Again, it's well maintained & the guide so comprehensive, that it was NOT a big problem, but... there's something comforting about a responsive host on the 1st days in a new place. So we didn't get that extra welcoming comfort #4 HOME is lovely with the main room for parents and lots of extra room if kids come to visit. Bathroom is spacious, water flow & temperature great (see guide to cut on supply). Kitchen is great for cooking, prepping, full fridge, and an adjacent dining table. There's a nice living room/entertainment area between the bedroom and dining area, as well as lovely spaces to relax in front and behind the cottage #5 No late check out option, but AT CHECK OUT time we were greeted by the house cleaner, Sandra, who was gracious & asked how our stay was.
