Hotel Roc Meler

Our stay at Hotel Roc Meler was very pleasant overall. Everything was well taken care of, and it was clear that a lot of attention had been given to the guests’ comfort. The views from the windows were, of course, absolutely beautiful and added a special touch to the experience. The only slightly disappointing part was breakfast. Breakfast is served only until 10:00 a.m., even on Sundays. We arrived at 9:45 a.m. and were rather strictly told that we had only 15 minutes. That in itself would have been understandable, and we fully respect the work and schedule of the staff. However, food began to be cleared away even before 10:00 a.m., along with cutlery and other items. There seemed to be no flexibility at all. We felt a certain pressure, which unfortunately took away a little from an otherwise enjoyable stay

Let’s be clear — this is not a real 4-star hotel. But if it were listed as a 3-star, I would honestly give it 5 stars for effort. We paid *** for one night. It was clean, quiet, and cheap, with a perfect breakfast included. Someone even made me a fresh omelette with ingredients I picked — big respect for that. At first, we got room ***, which was too hot, no AC, and no view — in summer, avoid it. After some talk, they moved us to room *** with a beautiful view over Canillo, and that improved everything. The hotel is 3–4 km from town, up a hill. Quiet area, great if you have a car. There’s a Carrefour 7–8 minutes away with 1 hour free parking if you go inside. Downsides? A lot of hidden costs: • 28€ extra for pool/spa access and swimming hats (even for the baby) • 15€/day parking (we parked outside to skip it) Also, no AC, and kids not allowed in spa after 18:00 — which we only learned at check-in. They gave us one extra hour after we got frustrated, which was fair. So yes, it’s not really 4-star, but for what it is — a 3-star hotel doing its best — it’s solid. Would stay again, just knowing what to expect.

Great breakfast, nice pub, great views, very polite and friendly staff, spa swimming pool not so big but worth visiting definitely after mountain walks

Pros: -the staff is very friendly -convenient shuttle transfer to telecabina (10 min) Cons: -very limited vegan options at breakfast and dinner -no gluten free bread at breakfast that would be readily available. You have to ask it, the have frozen processed gf bread that they take out if you ask for it. That is not satisfactory when hotel advertises as gluten free hotel -pillows are very uncomfortable, cheap artificial filling. Mattress was equally uncomfortable -bathroom needs updating, especially toilet and shower - the walls are very thin, you can hear everything in the other rooms, people coughing, non stop elevator sound. -gym is not very good and you have to pay to use sauna or pool. With hotel being away from town, this should be a perk that hotel offers FOC to attract customers to return. -no water in the room (standard for majority of hotels these days) -no good coffee in the hotel. Overall, we wouldn't want to stay there again.
