Room was basic with no extras but it was all we needed. Comfortable bed and pillows, nice shower. Full bar had signature drinks that were amazing. Guacamole was fresh and the homemade chips the best we ever had. Vegetarian dinner of strudel was delicious and unique. Fish meal was fresh and tasty. Dessert of fruit cobbler was generous and not too sweet and with blueberry ice cream!! Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was not cheap but the quality and great service were totally worth it to us!

Wonderful stay with great service, food, and views!
I arrived late (~8 PM), but the manager immediately came to assist with check-in and arrangements. I stayed in Standard Queen Room 17 for four nights—the room was lovely, and the attached bathroom was spacious and spotless. Portable heaters and fans were provided right away whenever requested.
The food was delicious (there was quite a bit to choose from)—highly recommend the crispy chicken tenders and pasta! The dining/drawing area overlooks the lake beautifully. The bar downstairs was cozy and well-stocked, perfect for unwinding in the evening after a day of hiking. Complimentary water, coffee, and tea were available 24/7, and a shared microwave was provided for guests.
The location is excellent—only about 10 minutes from Castle Rock Hill Trail (a moderate 2-mile hike with ~871 ft elevation gain) and close to the Adirondack Experience Museum. It’s around 1.5 hours to the High Peaks (Lake Placid, ADK Loj, Saranac Lake), but if you start early (~8 AM), you’ll have plenty of time to summit a peak and still explore Placid or Saranac afterward.
Overall, the staff were professional, friendly, and attentive. I truly enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
