This hotel is an undiscovered jewel in Progreso. It's located about two blocks from the Malecón (seaside boulevard), so it tends to get overlooked. But everything about it is first-rate: delightful historical home, well-appointed rooms (with 15' ceilings), and an outstanding restaurant headed by a chef with experience in both Mexican and Honduran cuisine. We found it a peaceful escape from the often tiresome scene of the Malecón. There's a real Yucatán here, unblemished by the Cancún-ification that has hit much of the rest of the town (and Mérida, for that matter). We intend to return.
