If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sleep in a building that’s actively losing its will to live, this hotel has you covered. One bed was genuinely comfortable — like, “maybe this won’t be so bad” comfortable — while the other was a rock-hard slab clearly designed by someone who hates spines.
The sink greeted me with a mystery hair far too long to be mine, which raised several questions I did not want answers to. The Wi‑Fi didn’t work, unless you count the network name showing up as “working.” The only thing updated in the last 30 years was the floor, which felt like it was trying its best despite the rest of the building crumbling around it. The office looked like a crash pad from the 70s, complete with the vibe of someone who might offer you a “special” cigarette.
At best, this place is worth thirty bucks, and that’s me being generous because the state park nearby is genuinely lovely. The town itself is sliding into dive territory — even the one grocery store closed, which feels like a warning sign.
Five stars for the park. One star for the hotel. Two stars for the mystery hair, because honestly, it added character.
