Martin's Inn

This place is great except for one thing: the walls are very thin and you hear way too much of your neighbors. Otherwise it's a clean and comfortable motel in a peaceful location just outside town.

Lovely little place. Sure it looks dated on the outside, but a wonderful spot to stay that isn't far out of town. Quiet, clean and super friendly staff. Helpful too. They have working BBQs and a picnic area, smoking allowed outside. I would recommend this to anyone needing a simple place to lay your head and have a shower/bath. I've stayed here at least 4 times now. They have a cool winter rate, $***a week. No password wifi, I bring my android box and watch movies from my PC at home.

I had a very disappointing stay at Martin’s Inn this time. First, our room was double-booked, so we were given someone else’s room while the other guests were called and told not to come — which already felt quite unprofessional. I had clearly mentioned in my booking request that I needed a fan, as I’ve stayed here before and know how hot the rooms can get. But there was no fan provided. When I asked the owner, he said he would fix the AC himself. He came to the room, checked the AC (which was already on), pretended to adjust a few settings, and then told me to “open the windows” because “it will get cold at night and you’ll need a blanket.” As far as I know, you’re not supposed to keep windows open while the AC is running, and unsurprisingly, it stayed hot the entire night. I couldn’t sleep and ended up with a migraine. Overall, this was a very uncomfortable experience — poor room management, no proper cooling, and dismissive service. Definitely not planning to return to Martin’s Inn again.

If your looking for nothing more than a comfortable bed and an indoor bathroom, it was fine. The office wasn't open at all while we were there (you had to ring the doorbell) but it was reasonably clean and half the price of the chain hotels. Water took a long time to warm up in the morning and varied while showering.
