Bishrelt Hotel

We initially decided to choose Bishrelt Hotel because of the following: 1. Convenient location 2. Big and spacious rooms 3. A nice bathtub However, we were disappointed because of the following: 1. When we first arrived, we were simply given our room card and were not directed to our rooms. Neither were we shown what level our rooms were to be on. 2. We weren't given a run through of the hotel's systems and processes— the expectation of a four star hotel. (Eg. Whilst the ad showed that we'd be provided with free breakfast, there was no mention of breakfast at all until we asked. To which, we were informed that we'd have to choose breakfast daily to be provided to our rooms. We had to ask for this everyday throughout our stay.) 3. We were told on the first day (7- September- 2026), as we received our room card, that there wasn't any water in our rooms (toilets and taps) and were informed that the issue would be resolved within an hour. (It was 4pm then, we were told the issue would be resolved by 5pm) However, on 8 September, there was still no water. As a result, we were unable to shower for a full day and we had to resort to buying bottles of mineral water so that we could at least wash our face and brush our teeth. Furthermore, when we called the reception to enquire as to why there was no resumption of water supplies even after 24 hours, the receptionist only stated that the supply was down for the hotel's in that area and did not offer to provide any bottles of water to compensate for the lack of water. We had to ask them for seven bottles of water. 4. When we asked for the hotel room to be cleaned, only the towels in the toilets were replaced. The beds weren't made. Some of the dirty dishes weren't cleared off. (Since breakfast is given in our rooms.) This wouldn't be excepted of a four star hotel. We had to make our beds on our own and clear the other things. 5. On 9 September, we decided to have our meal at the Embassy Restaurant— the hotel's restaurant. The moment we stepped in though, we were immediately told "There is no toilet here." We were shocked because we were there to eat, not use the toilet. We were then directed and seated at a table with a menu. After ten minutes, no one came to take our orders. There were many waiters/ waitresses around. Yet, no one came to take our order. They simply stood there, looking at us. Not to mention, we were one of the few people there. We ended up having to call someone over to take our order as we didn't know if we were to go up to the cashier to order or not. We weren't told. 6. On the same day, we discovered that there was, once again, no water supply. This time, we went down directly to the reception and were told that the water supply of the entire district was cut. When asked when it'd be restored (at 5 PM), we were told that it would be restored by 12 AM. Thankfully, it was restored after 12 AM. 7. On the day of check-out (11 September), we went down and handed over our room card to the receptionist. We were asked if we had used the mini-bar. To which, we answered no. We were bid farewell and we went to our airport transfer. When the airport transfer was at the gantry of the hotel, the receptionist suddenly came over and knocked on the car window and accused, "You used the mini-bar." We were shocked and told the airport transfer to wait. We went up with her to our hotel room. She opened the fridge and pointed at the drinks, saying that there were supposed to be 3 mineral bottles, a bottle of beer, and 2 cans of energy drinks. In the fridge, there was one bottle of mineral bottle, a can of the energy drink and the 2 bottles of beer. They seemed to not have checked prior to our stay. We insisted that we hadn't taken anything considering we didn't take anything out. If anything, we only placed our own refrigerated goods in the fridge. DOES NOT LOOK PLEASANT FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT INSIDE IS NICE. A VERY QUIET AND COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY IN.

The hotel has seen better days. The fittings were probably seen as grand decades ago but now they are in a sorry state. The worst thing was in my room, the bathtub leaked and flooded the bathroom floor. So the next day, I just had a quick shower. Also, the light switch connections were poor, sometimes the light came on and other times the light did not. Needed to try a few times for them to connect. Stains on the carpet and upholstery were evident. Bedlinen though was clean and I could sleep well enough with a temperature-adjustable air conditioner in the room. The receptionist has very basic understanding of English and most of the time, there is only one person manning the entire hotel. Best thing about this hotel is the breakfast spread. Tasty, nutritious and balanced, especially good for those who are on a protein-rich diet. When the fruits finished at 9am, I asked for them to be replenished, and they obliged. For that, I’d give them credit.
