    Santani is an ideal place for a solo adult traveler, especially women, who wish to spend quiet and restorative time surrounded by nature. It is not a resort for socializing by the pool or drinking cocktails all day, but rather a place that asks guests to slow down, be mindful, and respectful—to the environment, to others, and to themselves. Santani is an ideal place for a solo adult traveler, especially women, who wish to spend quiet and restorative time surrounded by nature. The food was outstanding. Portions were well balanced, beautifully presented, and clearly designed with nutrition and digestion in mind. What made it especially memorable was the interaction with the chef—discussing meal preferences and dietary needs each day felt like a very luxurious and thoughtful experience, and showed genuine care for each guest. The spa treatments themselves were excellent, and I appreciated how the Ayurvedic team gave honest advice about which treatments should be avoided after heavy rain. One small discomfort for me was that the sauna and changing areas are not separated by gender, which may feel unfamiliar for some guests. A highlight of my stay was the two-hour guided morning walk in nature. Walking through the surrounding landscape while speaking with a young local guide was deeply inspiring, and I strongly felt Santani’s commitment to supporting and engaging with the local community. Santani is not for everyone—but for those who wish to rest quietly, eat mindfully, reconnect with nature, and appreciate subtle, intentional hospitality, it is a very special place.

    I travelled with a friend and we stayed at Santani for two nights, we did not want to leave! The location was stunning, the design of the chalets, restaurant and spa facilities were amazing, the staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. I hope to return one day !

    Everything from staff to services to room view was exceptional. Even in Srilanka their are limited vegetarian options but the chefs tried hard to make us happy.

    We stayed for one night for our honeymoon and were really underwhelmed. Although a beautiful setting and views, the rooms needed updating- we had a Mountain View and the bathroom and shower were a bit grubby. There was no one at the pool or bar when we wanted a drink and it was hard to get things that you wanted. Food was pretty good and staff were generally lovely. Not worth the price we paid, was quite disappointing in a lot of ways but views made up for it.
