Hotel Cetina Murcia

Being right in the middle of town was very convenient. The team is lovely and the manager gave us a bottle if cava and some chocs when the hot water failed on our first morning, which was much appreciated.

Very close to the city center. The breakfast is also very good, a lot of options.

Having arrived in Murcia for a short stay, I had my car stolen and, while it was recovered, the damage done required me to extend my stay here and move to this hotel as there were no rooms left in the hotel I was staying in. Obviously, this was a bad moment for me, but one that I could not have imagined would turn so quickly. Two days later, I was mugged in the street while walking back to the hotel. My bank cards, ID and most of my cash were taken along with my cellphone. I returned to the hotel and, having failed to log into my email account as without my phone I couldn't confirm my identity, I realised that I was now stuck until somebody from home could come out to Spain and bring some cash to pay for the car repairs. This now meant being in Murcia over Christmas and that I would not get home to spend it with my young family. Clearly an extremely sad thing for any father to contend with, on top of being robbed twice. Given the situation, I also had no way to pay the hotel for the extra 2 nights that I needed, so I asked if it would be possible to pay them after the stay. They were fully aware of what had happened as the police had visited the hotel to discuss details of the robbery with the staff and myself. Imagine my surprise when the hotel director then told me simply "pay for the 2 nights or you have to leave" and "the owner won't let me have a room full that isn't paid for". So, that moment I needed to pick up what little I had left of my belongings and go out into the street. On December 23rd. Right before Christmas and they were happy to throw somebody out into the cold with nowhere to go, away from his family and having already been robbed twice in 4 days in their city. All for less than a couple of hundred euros. Let me tell you, if that had been my hotel and my guest had experienced Murcia like that, I would have never expected payment at all, let alone a few days late. An absolutely disgraceful lack of compassion and care. Don't stay here. They literally don't deserve your money.
