The room was clean and comfortable, shower was really poor and disappointed with check in, slow and unable to use the gym facilities in prior to check in, requested this before arrival via email.

The only thing is that they say they have parking, and it doesn't belong to them. It belongs to a third party and you have to pay about 20 euros per day plus tax and walk about a block with your suitcaises to the hotel. But the hotel is very beautiful and modern and has excellent service.

The staff is friendly and polite! Rooms were very nice and comfortable. The area is absolutely perfect in the old port region. Able to walk to many things and scooter quickly to anywhere you want to go.

Friendly (if delayed - 1 receptionist on duty dealing with a guests query) but our room turned out to have not been cleaned after the last guest! Quickly moved to another room that couldn’t be faulted. Good breakfasts and lovely staff. Very good location for the ferry port.

The property is located in a convenient area. The was booked for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 and it was much larger than standard hotel rooms, providing enough space. The pool was conveniently located and breakfast was available. The room however had noticeable stains on the couch and carpet. The bathroom in the room we were placed in had mildew.

Excellent location for walking to and from the central areas with shopping. Mall is about 15 mins walk. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Elizabeth was excellent! Would stay here again!

This was a terrible experience. The hotel was filthy. The carpet in my room was stained beyond belief. I should have left after I saw the room. The experience was beyond disappointing. There was trash left in the hallway for days. The elevators were filthy. The lobby floor was disgusting. This was an awful, dirty and filthy hotel. I would love to see a refund for such a terrible experience.

Once past the lobby and off the elevator, hallways looked bad? Carpet was stained and dirty looking. Walls were all scratched up. The rooms looked worn out. The carpet looked like no one had vacuumed in a month. At least bedding appeared clean and bathroom looked fairly clean. I was really disappointed and was traveling with a group who were all disappointed with the lack of cleanliness. Hotel is in great area and looks nice from outside. I would not stay here again though as was not happy with the lack in housekeeping.

We stayed two days before our cruise, it was a clean and safe hotel. It was across from the “Docks” which was wonderful to have so close - the (large) mall and museum was within walking distance as well as the cathedral. My only complaint would be the food and wait staff in the restaurant - he was fairly inattentive and we waited a long time to pay our cheque, we had to walk to the counter after some time to pay and the chicken club sandwich was cold and felt prepared in advance. Although we may have stayed at an “off season” date, it was still very disappointing. I would recommend this hotel but advise to avoid the restaurant.

Our stay at Golden Tulip Marseille was good overall. Our check in didn't go well, took over an hour to get a satisfactory rooms. We were getting adjoining rooms, the first two sets we got, one room would smell ok while the other would have an unpleasant smell. The third set of rooms we got were much better. The staff were very friendly and helpful, part of what took so long is they had to have their maintenance man go check the rooms to make sure they did smell. Having taken over an hour to get rooms meant we missed time to go out and explore the nearby church as we had planned. The rooms, even the ones that smelled were clean. The beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

for a 9-story hotel, one out of every two elevators was broken, it was restrictive because of the long wait. bad smell in the corridors of the rooms. They saved us from what may have been a horrific night in Marseille, which is seemingly very not safe after dark (especially around the train station), with a last minute booking at 11:55 pm. The man at the front desk was excellent, kind, and had great English after an exhausting day of travel that got us to Marseille at 11:30 pm instead of 6 pm thanks to numerous delays and issues with the French rail. The hotel was mostly clean, a little dated in places, but comfortable and great overall. They also helped us get a taxi back to the train station the following morning, and it saved 10-20 minutes of trying to get one ourselves.

The carpet in the room was super dirty full of stains. There were no bath products or soap just one thing on the wall with liquid soap that you can use for everything. Mattress of the sofa bed was also full of stains. Double doors between bedroom and living room didn’t fully close. It does not feel like a luxury hotel. Nespresso machine for coffee was nice and the room was very large and spacious. Front desk staff was nice. Hard to get to the front with the car and you have to park in a garage for $30.

RUN from this place. This was the dirtiest hotel room I have seen so far. The carpet was stained. The sheets were not clean. We reported this to the staff, and nothing was done. Instead, we spent our first night without any cover as we removed the dirty covers and refused to use them. The staff said things will be taken care off in the morning. Well believe it or not, we spent 2 nights in this room. No one was also able to help us with setting up a so called parking account. We ended up paying more than €41 a day and our account was still changed for an account that did not work. By the way, I am still waiting for my deposit.
