    We stayed 2 nights here during our anniversary trip. We chose Dangau Room. The room is so spacious, i love the open air bathroom with bamboo!!! The air conditioning is cold making the room feel so comfy. They do provide small fridge in the room. When you wake up in the morning, you can see buffalo 😍 next to your room!! Truthful, i really enjoyed staying here and would recommend you guys to stay here too for a different vibes.

    I really wanted to love this place. The setting is so cute in the rice paddies, the accommodation itself was quite basic but I wasn’t expecting much for the price, I will say the bed was comfy, it was very clean and the aircon worked well. It’s well located, again for the price I was impressed, it’s a short walk to the main strip in Pantai Cenang so lots of places to eat and it’s close to the beach and airport. We stayed 1st - 5th Jan which is peak season for tourists and locals and really the price was great. HOWEVER as much as I wanted to leave a good review the thing that completely spoiled the stay was the NOISE… the Gemalai Village is located just off a very busy road, which yes you can see on google, but being an island I didn’t think it would be so busy and so noisy. Sadly the huts aren’t at all sound proof so you can hear everything, we were kept up late in to the night by bikes and cars zooming by and when that finally stops the local dogs start up. I’ve stayed in many places for leisure and work of all different standards and I can honestly say this is one of the noisiest places I’ve stayed. My husband and I barely got any sleep for the whole stay and were very close to checking out early and staying else where. If you’re someone who isn’t bothered by noise, a heavy sleeper or have a great pair of ear plugs then this is a lovely stay, if you’re a light sleeper than this is not the stay for you!
