It was very dirty espically in the bathroom, and the staff were unhelpful from check in to checkout.

The ventilation in the bathroom was bad. Sometimes it was as if someone was smoking in my bathroom. Unfortunately the sounds from the street could be heard very loudly even though a closed window

Friendly staff, clean, good showers, quite happy but let down by unbearably hot dormitory - yes the weather was hot but the fact the windows in the room didn’t open more than 10cm did not help. Also the hostel had a strangely impersonal vibe

Quality compatible with the price. Only complain is about the wifi, because is so slow and almost never works on the 2nd floor.

Close to everything. Easy to get to the city center and the Hbf. Easy to check in and get to the room. Turned out it I had bedbugs in the room, so I’m covered in bites. But we solved it on the hostel. You hear everything, so the dudes that showered on Saturday to Sunday at like 1 and singing I could hear it all.

I know hostels can be noisy, but screaming and shouting at 2am, 4am and 6am was too much even for me. Even the earplugs I had didn’t block it out. Staff were great though, would just be nice to see some ‘Be respectful of other guests’ signage around to remind the serial shouters.

location was great and in a very close distance to the train station. and the central attractions. Cleanliness, was good for the amount paid. bed linings were clear and ready to be fitted to the bed by ownself. Staff were helpful but very busy all the time dealing with customers. Facilities needed for a backpacker were sufficient: WiFi, Socket, Space to sit and eat and work and enjoy the time. Bar and reception area was however, noisy and tiny and crowded most of the times. Happy to come again if needed for a low budget visit to the city.

The accommodation is cheap and basic but is conveniently situated with a 5min walk of the railway station. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable but the bar area was tatty and dull with ripped sofas and I feel there should have been more toilets. Only 2 on each floor so often occupied.

Had a single room next to showers. The isolation was so bad that each time someone took a shower, it felt like it was happening in the room. There was no ventilation either and the outside was too noisy with the window open. Did not get much sleep. The toilets were not clean.

Sadly I had a terrible experience at the Station Hostel. I booked 3 months in advance for a private room for a 2 night midweek stay during my trip to Germany. The location is absolutely fantastic, just minutes from the main station. Check in was friendly and efficient and I was pleasantly surprised when I got to my room. Super clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, nice big windows allowing plenty of light. Small desk and a lovely compact small toilet and shower. Bedding, towels and toiletries were provided and a modest €1 is charged per extra towel if you need more than one. The common areas on the ground floor are lovely and the bar / restaurant is cosy and very welcoming. This could have been such a pleasant experience. It wasn’t the hotel that ruined it, it was the groups of teens staying in the rooms around me. I had room 409. Rooms 410,411 and 412 had students in them who partied and misbehaved until well after 4am. I got absolutely no sleep for doors slamming, furniture being thrown about, shouting, swearing, screaming, running and fighting in the hall ways, banging on walls….. it was absolutely AWFUL. They behaved like animals with total disrespect for any other guests trying to sleep. Sadly the staff leave at midnight and so there isn’t anyone there to deal with noise complaints and people can simply behave as they wish. I left to go about my day the next day but felt tired and came back to try and have a nap in the afternoon, however the party had started a

The whole property, although in a nice neighborhood, appears shabby and grimy. The mattress should have been replaced years ago, and it sagged and gave me a back-ache when I got up, which affected my holiday.

The check in time is changing without notice in advanced. And the reception is not 24 hours. Shower room didn't provide any gels. And the room don't have any regulation, roommate is so annoy.

Ideal location adjacent to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) & city centre. The dormitory, toilets, showers & communal areas were all clean. The WiFi worked perfectly with additional hubs across the floors to ensure a good connection. Multi lingual staff were pleasant & helpful. I made use of the offer to store luggage free of charge after officially checking out & was pleased that the storage room had around 100 lockers, rather than just being a room where bags could be interfered with. The only disappointment was that I was too fat for the largest available sweatshirt - would otherwise have bought one.

Sometimes customer service could be a little more curtious, but maybe that is from a British perspective. I stayed on New Years Eve, and the place had a good party vibe - the following days it was calm and pleasent. I didn't get chance to sign out officially as I left at 4am and there was no one on the 24hr desk - but I was in a rush so I wasn't too bothered about my euro back for the key card. I would definitely stay there again as a solo traveller.

Excellent hostel with attentive and friendly staff. Bar is atmospheric, staffed by top class, lively and helpful individuals. Beds are comfortable. Decor is typical hostel plain style. Location is perfect, close to nightlife, shopping and railway station. Shower floors slightly slippy but water is warm and everything is clean.
