The street where the hostel is, it is awfull, very dirty and at weekends terribly noise. The hostel is old, and it looks dirty. Cleaning people is nice and they try to do their best, but the hostel needs urgently a deep renovation . Our room of four has the floor broke, and the walls were half printed... People at reception were ok.

Its getting hot day by day now in birmingham, so rooms must have Fan atleast. It was very hot in the room as there was no fan or a.c.

It was what it was. For the price and convenience to O2 Institute, it was well worth it. If I had to stay again...?

Very well received by staff and they are very keen to give a sense of belonging. I felt safe throughout and my room partners were so kind. It was a very good first experience as a solo traveller. Most important , it was very cheap and as a student I loved that. Totally recommend it to solo travellers or even friends/couple stays.

Close to bus station but my dorm room was really too small to have 6 beds (3 bunks). Should have had only 2 bunks.

Good common area and very clean. Staff were very professional and helpful. Good location. Breakfast was toast, juice, coffee...could be a bit better.

I had a great time at the Backpackers. The check-in was quick and my single room was lovely. The bed sheets were fresh and I got towels for my own bath and toilet. Everything was super clean. The breakfast was simple and for a sweet tooth. The common area has a projector and many places to sit and talk. The bar seemed well equipped. The kitchen is pretty small but seemed to have everything to cook. The street looked a bit shady when I arrived but was quiet at night (I stayed during the week not the weekend). The Bus station is close by and also the train station only a 15-20 min walk away. Great staff. I really recommend this place if you are on a tight budget.

When I was looking at staying at hotels in Birmingham, they were either booked up or were ten times more expensive than this hostel, on average. Ive been here before, so I thought Id give it another try. It is actually surprisingly good for the amount that you pay! No need to take a sleeping bag,

Expecting not very much for £25 (including breakfast!), but got. A single room, clean bathroom and kitchen, friendly staff in bar/communal area. Great stay!

If you're needing a bed for a couple of hour, here isn't too bad of a choice. Anything more than that, go anywhere else. The lobby/common area/breakfast room (all the same room) is appealing at first sight with plenty of colour etc, and the lone staff member I saw during the whole visit was friendly enough even if a little unclear. Our room was in the building next door. This place is your bog-standard, not at all flashy or impressive, it's just as you see it. The location of the site is in a run-down area just on the outskirts of the city centre, across the road is a wall covered in illiterate graffiti though there's a good 'Inspector Gadget' mural on it. The whole street is lined with bad quality and wrecked cars with garages along the way - it isn't a pretty place at all. The room was a 6-person shared suite and had just 1 double plug socket for all 6 strangers to fight over, luckily I had a portable battery with me. Again it was bog-standard, what you see is what you get, it was clean but didn't sparkle, and the bed (top bunk, at least) felt a little hard but nothing too noticeable, and pillow soft. The communal toilet was also clean and didn't stink as you'd expect from any sort of public restroom, so that was nice. The free breakfast was just a toaster put on the counter, with bread, some spreads, and a bit of fruit, nothing impressive. I suppose as it's just a backpacker's hostel, it does its job well, so for 1 night and cheap price, here is alright. Good wifi.

Would be good to have more shower units for so many lodgers. I have never ending to a toilet with no sink for hand washing!! be prepare to have some wet wipes handy but don't put these down the toilet! would also be nice to have a larger kitchen for self catering. Gets crowded with more than 2 preparing meals in there.

Everything was good! You receive more things from that you pay! The only negative thing I wanna mention is that during the night there was no warm water and it was somehow difficult to make a shower..In general the Hostel exceeded my expectations! I reccommend it!

It's good in overall, we can meet friends and chit chat.
