What an absolutely amazing week we had at this hotel. Run by a lovely family who were super nice and welcoming. The hotel was awesome, the location was perfect and the views of Mont Blanc over breakfast were breathtaking. This was a summer trip but it would be a perfect location to get to the Chamonix valley for skiing. Our room was great, breakfast was just what we needed and the tartefflete was out of this world. Great spa too, my partner and I had a couple of relaxing sessions in there. Book with confidence and enjoy your stay. If you love dogs, you'll also get your furball cuddles in.

We had a very welcoming and lovely stay at Hotel La Fontaine. The room was very clean, the towels nice and fluffy. The hotel has a nicely decorated bar and restaurant and provides lots of activities for the family including a lovely swimming pool. The hotel is not in a town and next to the main road to Charmonix. It provides a good base, if you have a car, for visiting the many resorts in the Alps. I would recommend staying at the hotel.

The hotel is about three miles from Les Houches and the only way to get there is by taxi. This seven minute ride was quite expensive. The hotel doesn’t serve dinner and there are no restaurants, or anything else, within walking distance. Breakfast was limited. I would not recommend this place.

Location is a little out of the town but as we were driving no problem at all, the access to the hotel is directly off the main road so this is a major bonus as the snow was really heavy and it was easy to get back to the road. The hotel service was very good the owners spoke some English and we managed to communicate well with our broken French, lots of easy parking and nice atmosphere in the hotel. I did not use the Wifi there so I can not comment on it. The main concern was the breakfast, it was very expensive and very basic. Even by French standards it was a basic breakfast, the second day we brought our own. The hotel needs to be improved in a few places but overall the value for money was good and it suited us for the time we were there.

No service at all....heating was set to automatic.. and was not on...( mont blanc... in October .. at night.. no heating.. unbelievable). had to get plug in heater for room.. location is good . But the couple running the place ... were the worst, unhappy... un helpful hosts.... ever

Its a nice hotel with helpful owners however they do not speak any English so brush up on your French. Another factor to consider is the location. We went without a car and found that complicated things enormously as it is not possible to walk to the restaurants or the train station at night and the hotel is not on the Chamonix bus route. The hotel provide a shuttle to and from Les Houches which is great but again a little restricting. As I said the owners were very helpful and drove us to and from a restaurant each evening but it did take away any element of choice. Breakfast was good and I enjoyed a swim in the pool.

This hotel was a stop over at the end of our ski holiday. Be warned there is no restaurant and as we didnt have a car we were stuck but the owner kindly took us to a nearby restaurant which he booked for us. The pool was a good temperature and clean with good showers and the rooms were clean and comfortable, other guests leaving in the morning were lisy but this is no the fault of the hotel. Breakfast was worth having and they understandably ask you not to take food away with you.

We chose this hotel as base for skiing in the Chamonix area, particularly Les Houches. Shame they do not offer evening meals but we ate out in Les Houches or Chamonix. Whilst it is a reasonable sized hotel, it sometimes felt like you were in somebodys house, especially when the owner seemed to be watching everything.

Hotel was ok, but you need a car or else you are stranded in an isolated area. Pool was nice, area is very quiet. Would be good for families. Staff only spoke French.

Nice enough place, big rooms, Just a warning... If skiing, you definitely need a car. I turned up 9pm for a weekend ski by transfer coach ready for a decent meal & a drink. If its snowed its a 1h+ road walk to any bar or restaurant (Servoz)...... . Annoyingly I found a kitchen in my large room, but Id brought no food..... A bus stops nearby at 8.20am (just 3 per day) to get you to Les Houches ski lifts, but if you miss that, youve lost the mornings ski (As I did as reception told me 8.24 & a note on the stop bizarrely warns the bus can leave at least! 5 minutes ahead of schedule!- so around 8:10 needed). Last bus back from Les Houches would enforce a monk -like existence on you, as it leaves abt 5.30pm & the Hotel only offers breakfast..
