The Royal Hotel

The hotel was tired with poor attention to detail.

Our stay was far from what we expected. The photos online did not match reality. While the reception looked fresh, the elevator was old and unreliable, room doors had broken handles, and our room smelled of mold. The floor on the room wasn’t clean.The bathroom was unhygienic, the shower head was moldy and old due for a NEW ONE, and the drainage flooded the floor. The air conditioning smelled bad, was noisy, and couldn’t be controlled. The pool area was poorly maintained – dirty pool, untrimmed grass, moldy sunbeds that smelled, and unclean glass barriers. The game room was dusty with a moldy odor, and even the public toilets had no locks and weren’t clean. The only positives were that breakfast was okay and the lifeguard was very kind and helpful. Overall, definitely not worth the money.

Staff were polite and attentive, done their best for the situational circumstances. Unfortunately the hotel itself was very run down which is what you don’t see in the pictures. Pool was dirty, singers were disgusting, couldn’t not use it because I felt so gross. The corridors are extremely run down and stink of sewage. The room itself was standard and it had a great view of the plane landing but noisy, the shower is small and often when trying to shower it stinks of sewage too. We had constant WiFi troubles, it would stop working, phones will not connect, the staff at the reception probably hear this complaint from a lot of guests. There are food places to eat outside the hotel, and there is a bus that takes you straight into old Corfu town for 2 euros located on the left hand side of the hotel, 1 minute walk. Overall wouldn’t come back again

Very nice

I had expected a bit more from this hotel, and I was honestly a little disappointed. I chose it as a gift for my partner, hoping for a slightly higher standard, but the room didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The door and shower weren’t working properly, and the noise from the planes taking off right outside made it hard to relax. That said, the surrounding area is quite charming, with a small beach within walking distance and a lovely little church nearby. If you love planes and enjoy plane spotting, this is probably the perfect place. But unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit for us.

Unfortunate no operationing bar or food service in the hotel, not a bad breakfast though. Staff were very friendly.

Reception staff are amazing and very helpful. They upgraded my room on arrival when they learned that I like to watch the planes land at the airport. The room was comfortable although looking tired in places. Thankfully the A/C worked really well in the heat keeping the room nice and cool.

I stayed for one night at this hotel and it was basically a transit stop. On arrival the receptionist was delightful and very helpful. The reception area was clean and modern, however, the corridors to the bedrooms were stark and dismal and certainly not conducive to a feel

The location of the hotel is excellent. Easy to get to the airport and has stunning views of mouse Island. I would recommend it. The staff is very friendly and very nice. It’s definitely not a modern hotel but it has character.

No pride of ownership. Not very accommodating. Washrooms barely fit a petson. I would definitely NOT be staying or recommending the hotel to anyone.

It was good service brilliant

The staff were all lovely. The food was slightly limited but was good. The hotel is very close to the runway of the airport which is why I chose it but some people may find the nois off putting.

Wouldn’t let us cancel even with travel protection.

Very good location. Staff very helpful and so friendly! Nice breakfast ! Next to airport, you can see all airplane landing and departure! Reception 24/7 open and you get all support and help! absolutely staff,They are 5stars. I will recommend to everyone! Definitely we will visiting in future again! It was vety bad smell in the room. The towel had yellow spots all over. Air conditioner was making noise. Breakfast was poor too. Very loud noise from the planes.

We started out having few expectations and we are people who really adapt to everything, but this is a joke. We asked how to use the safe inside the room and they were unable to answer us except that the staff suitable for the question was not present. So we left our possessions unattended and it wasn't pleasant. Furthermore, this morning the cleaning ladies entered the room without knocking and without asking for permission, at a time long before the check out time in which I was getting dressed. We asked why there wasn't hot water to take a shower and were told that the other people in the facility had probably run out of it and to wait a couple of hours to try to use it again. the room was really dirty, in the "garden" it was full of dirt probably left by passers-by and the previous occupants of the room.

I liked the fact that the hotel wasn’t far from both Corfu’s old town, which is the city center, and the airport. Both locations were at easy reach by using the public bus line 2A which has a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. One of the reasons why I chose to book rooms at this hotel was because it has a swimming pool, though once getting there I discovered that the swimming pool is not well maintained or cleaned, showing yellow dirt marks around all the walls of the pool and loose wood tiles on the deck area. About the several things that left us dissatisfied with our stay: there were power-cuts several times during our stay, when the hotel had no light or energy for a couple of minutes. Some days the water on the shower didn’t get warm at all and was quite cold, so it was difficult to take showers. On 2 days of our 5 night stay our room hasn’t been cleaned at all, though we left the hotel early in the morning, only came back at night and left the door tag in front our room door indicating it should be cleaned. In one of the nights, a couple who was staying in one of the hotel rooms started fighting and banging on walls and furnitures, the fight was so loud that it could be heard across one full wing of the property and it took a while until the security staff resolved the issue. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was quite poor in options and in how the food tasted.

Shabby low class hotel for budget travellers We made the mistake of not investigating this property before booking The pool was closed so that main attraction was gone The beds were hard and two singles as they have no double beds The smell around the property reminded me of a lavotory

Nice hotel. Nice staff and clean rooms. Next to the airport so you can see landing en takeoff of airplanes.

If you like to watch planes - it's the place to be. Otherwise it's just really (!) loud The breakfast isn't the best and our shower was cold. The pool costs another 5€ per visit which I don't really understand All in all a standard hotel

Been there for one night with my wife, booked a double bed room. Last time, my daughter decided to join us and we showed up at the hotel. Although booked they did their best to find a small bed to add to our room, and they didn’t charge us. Excellent service, well done!

Not so good this time , 3rd time at this hotel in 12 months first 2 times good , except for the breakfast , this time not so good breakfast we didnt even both , the 2 people on reception on friday evening a little rude but the nice lady on yesterday morning was lovely, but dont think we will come back , rooms are nice , bathrooms very small

I like too much this hotel

So we stayed here in june with friends and had a great time only fault then was the breakfast , this time back for a long weekend with family was disappointed our room wasnt cleaned once and we had the same towels for 4 days , breakfast still a bit rubbish but if your not too fussy its ok . We where given another room for the day as we had a late check out it was a pool side much bigger than the main hotel and the bathroom was better all in all had a nice weekend 😀

Quiet area and out of town. noisy as it overlooks the airport. Hot showers were little hit and miss and the Aircon did not work fantastically. Very limited toiletries and no room service. Staff were very helpful and public transport into town is great as is the taxi service

This is an amazing hotel, we have stayed there five times and every time we go, we cannot get over the customer hospitality and service we receive. From being warmly greeted by the reception staff, clean and comfortable bedrooms, a good variety of foods and drinks and the great location of this hotel. Close to the local bus and air services, makes it an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore Corfu. Absolutely stunning scenery!

The property is in a nice location, with a very close bus station, nice restaurants and views from which you can take photos with the incoming airplanes. On the other hand its a bit noisy because of the airplanes but you get used to it. A problem was that the housekeeping changed the towels only after 4 days of using. The AC and the fridge were making a lot of loud noises, not sure why but it kept us awake sometimes during the night. Some people staying on the same floor were laughing and making loud noises in the middle of the night, 2-3AM and no staff told them to go quiet on that hours. The breakfast was ok-ish, the only problem I got there is that the coffee machine which was supposed to make 5-6 types of coffee, made only regular coffee. The pool, somehow clean but very salty water (maybe because thats how they keep it clean) and sometimes with a strong smell of chlorine which is not that pleasant. Overall a bit dissapointed.

The hotel is conveniently located with sea view and airport view...planes taking off or landing there is an entertainment for guests. The facility is in very good condition and the staff is friendly and approachable. Cleanness in rooms and communal areas is definitely something to highlight.

We were given a room away from the main hotel, which smelled of damp and cat urine. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice. The outside area was really scruffy and overgrown and obviously hadn’t been maintained at all. The pool is across the road which is dangerous for children. This hotel really needs improvement
