    We stayed at STAY KOKO STAY Shimonoseki for two nights. The first night was fine with no issues. On the second night, after returning from dinner around 9pm, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke on the non-smoking floor, especially in the bathroom. We don’t smoke, and the smell made us both feel dizzy. It seemed to be coming through the bathroom ventilation. We informed reception using a translated message. Due to the language barrier, the staff member apologised and shrugged, and no further action was taken. It was late evening and there was only one staff member on duty. Aside from this, the hotel is okay for a short stay, but we wouldn’t return. The room felt tired overall, and while the sheets were clean, the duvet had stains.

    They mistakenly gave me a smoking room as they did not confirm during check in. They moved me on a different one so it's fine. If you're planning to stay, make sure to reiterate your room type. Front desk was helpful in arranging my Yamato delivery to my next hotel.
