    Carpet flooring has nails protruding out, kinda old fashioned hotel. Stay is fine for adults, not recommend for family with young kids that likes to run and explore the room, because of the nails on edges of carpet around the room.

    Deposit for room charge even though it’s fully paid. Deposit amount is 60% of the total stay rate. Kinda crazy for a high end hotel. Exterior is grand, inner lobby is fantastic as well. Location is very well situated, there are many hotels nearby to choose from either. Nanjing road is just 1 street across. Found sharp nails protruding from the carpet floor near all edges. Don’t really recommend for family with young kids.

    As the first visit to Shanghai, staying at the Grand Central was superb. Location is as in the name, central to the main spots to see so many sites that are within a reasonable walking distance. The metro is close and so easy to get around. The staff, especially those on the concierge desk were superb. They deal with so many packages and parcels I bet they feel like they are working in a post office. They were so courteous and helpful. The room was large enough with good facilities having both bath and shower, ideal after a long walk. The hotel is an easy walk from the metro, so no need for booking taxis as the metro from PVG is simple and only takes about 40+ minutes.

    It’s a return stay. However, it’s quite disappointing this time around - be it the service rendered or cleanliness, especially given the price point.
