The place was amazing. Super clean and cozy. They had a bunch of stuff that we could borrow, including chairs, kayaks, coolers. It was just a great place. If we ever go back, we would be definitely staying there. Thanks for a great experience!!

Me and my husband stayed for our anniversary, the property is beautiful and in a great location for people looking to explore north and south ends with food about a 10 minute walk. Our favorite part was all the accommodations including in our stay, like the kayaking and small things down to the chairs and umbrellas. Our favorite thing to do was the kayaking on the river right next to the stay and we did It a couple times during our stay! We will be back for sure

Fern Grotto Inn (Coco D) was beautiful & comfortably furnished. Nice floral surprises everywhere with some yummy snacks, water & beer in the frig. Plenty of kitchen wares. There was Illy Coffee too. Our queen bed was very comfortable, although a bit high (I'm 5'6"). We were on the second floor (no elevator), which made for some nice views of the river from the kitchen/dining area.
The grounds are absolutely stunning with beautiful plants & flowers everywhere. The Inn is located between Kapa'a & Lihue. Lots of things to do, restaurants & shopping nearby. You can go kayaking from the property to Fern Grotto, visit Smith's Garden & Luau (pricey, but includes a great meal & show). Need to book in advance. It's a very short drive from the Inn. Definitely do the doors off 1 hour helicopter tour of Kauai with Ali'i (expensive, but SO worth it!) from Lihue. Also, go to Allerton Garden & Estate (south) & Kilauea NWR (north). Too many things to do & so little time! We were there 4 nights.
There is some road noise, even with the windows closed & there are roosters that like to crow at various times of the day or night, but there is Alexa that you can play music or white noise to offset any sounds.
Paul was out of state, but we got to meet Rick. Great guy! Thanks Rick!
