    Our first time staying at this property, we usually do Marriott or Hilton due to loyalty perks. Thought we try something else this time, July2026. As 2 adults and one child aged 12, I would say we really enjoyed Oakwood Residences overall. Stay wasn't without incident but we have already rebooked for Dec26 Pros: great staff, even better location and good housekeeping, rooms managed by what looked like an overworked, hardworking team of more mature women. Above normal room size for this area, Bangkok in general and most other local competing hotels at a similar price point; this is probably Oakwoods #1 main attraction. Kitchen came fully equipped, cutlery, plates etc and the huge freezer and fridge meant less perpetual grocery orders. To get anything like this room size for the same money, you are really looking at areas such as On Nut or Pra Khanong...several stops on the BTS away from central Sukhumvit... not walkable. Cons: The Oakwood Residence Hotel is clearly old and clearly in need of significant investment, upgrading and refurbishment, especially carpets, rugs and soft furnishings. Hall carpets on floor 8 were very dark and badly stained, rugs inside room's looked, felt and smelled dirty. No aircon on any floor hallway so when walking to and from the room the heat felt oppressive. 2 of our 3 ac units leaked water down the walls dropping very close to the tvs which sat below the ac units...sketchy to say the least. Improvements: top floor of hotel, floor 9, housed the swimming pool. 75% of that roof space was completely wasted, totally empty and void of personality or features. Place is crying out for conversion to an outdoor lounge or rooftop bar/restaurant or speakeasy. Infact, the recently opened Chit Chat Indian restaurant would have been nice upstairs outside instead. Open air Indian food in Bangkok... don't think there's one of those yet. The rooms are not "dirty" at this hotel...please do not confuse my review...the furniture and fixtures are just very very old and have seen better days. For the price we paid we we thought Oakwood was great. We do not however spend much time stuck in any hotel whilst in Bangkok.... who would ! It's worth highlighting that during our last trip to Bangkok before this one, April26, we stayed at the Marriott Marquis about 2 minutes walk from Oakwood. Imagine our surprise when they charged us an extra *** for our daughter who'd just turned 12 between checking out of one Marriott and then into the Marquis. The room/furniture quality at Marquis was poor, arguably not befitting their 5 star rating at all....service terrible from staff. Concierge lost our suitcase for about 8 hours as several buses arrived at once.... so big chain hotels like Marriott aren't all that either but they charge much more. ( Thats coming from a Lifetime Marriott Platinum member! ) Looking forward to our next Oakwood stay, Christmas 2026.

    The front desk are very nice, hotel is well maintained and very clean. Very near to the Em shopping district so it’s easy to shop. Will definitely stay here again

    We loved the hotel very much and would definitely stay again. The only suggestion we have is the living room furniture is a bit dated and used. Would be great to see new furnishings in our next visit!

    The location is excellent — right by the BTS and shopping malls. However, the hotel would benefit from a serious refurbishment to modernize the facilities and furniture. There’s also a persistent unpleasant smell in the corridor leading to the lift, and I hope this can be addressed soon.
