Very clean and modern and quiet rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast. Shower / tub combination was a little quirky with foldable shower door.

We had a pleasant stay. Our room (a superior double) is spacious. We particularly like the courtyard setting of the swimming pool and breakfast area. The reception was helpful, and you can custom order eggs for breakfast apart from what's in the buffet area. While it's initially a bit difficult to drive to the hotel because of many one-way streets, once you know the area, it's not that bad. The hotel is in a good location, just next to the cable car and outside the old town.

Great hotel close to Bolzano city center. The pool area is excellent to relax by after a day with activities. Breakfast with a solid selection (especially for those that enjoy sweets). Friendly staff that are ready to answer all your questions. Easy parking by the hotel. Easily staying here again if going to Bolzano later.

This hotel was nice, clean, right across from shopping and about 2 blocks from the pretty touristy part of town. Unfortunately we walked the wrong way and were quite afraid in this city. I’m sure summer is prettier but all we saw was power lines and dirty streets. The hotel is in a safer area….but barely. The room was also extremely cramped. I know rooms in Europe are small but this one just seemed uncomfortable. The hotel staff were kind. We just don’t want to go to Bolzano again. It’s more industrial than I thought. Next time I’d stay in a pretty house on the hillside rather than in the city.

This was the ONLY hotel that did not offer a refund or credit for future stays during the COVID-19 closure of Italy / the world for travel. Airbnb gave 100% cash refunds and other hotel.com properties offered either a refund or a credit for future stays. Stiegl Scala Hotel however charged my credit card after the Italian Government placed Italy into lock down. Hotel.com was unable to resolve this issue.

We enjoyed our stay at the Scala Stingl Hotel. The staff were helpful & knowledgeable. We took their advice about tours & had a lovely time. We will stay there should we return to Sud Tyrol.

Very nice hotel situated about ten minute walk from Piazza Walther. Right near the cable car up to the mountain for 15 Euro with train ride at the top. Will definitely stay here again if I am back in town.

The rooms at this hotel are comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, with a nice shower. The bed was comfortable and the hotel quiet. There is a lovely courtyard off the breakfast area.The staff seemed confused by our booking and tried to charge us for the room even though we had paid through Expedia. We had to tell her twice that we had already paid. In the end it worked out fine but I am glad that we had printed out our confirmation.

In real estate they say location is everything, if that is true of hotels, well then, this is the big lewinski! I cannot believe there is a better located hotel in all of Bolzano. This coupled with the beautiful property, abundant free parking, an amazing breakfast (along with a genuinely friendly, courteous and helpful staff), world class reception, wonderful memory foam matress and just right pillows in a truly tasteful room - WOW! We were traveling from Munich to Venice and this seemed like a great stopover because of the cable car (first one ever BTW, invented here in 1908!) and the fun little train on top of the mountain - but it turned out to be one of our favorite destinations of this trip. The hotel is literally a 3 minute walk to the cable car and a 10 minute walk to old town and all the shopping. So we parked (choice of 3 lots, 2 free, UG is $11) , checked in, was wowed by the room, and then went to the cable car. We spent a few hours on the mountain top and then returned to town. We were fortunate that we found an amazing restaurant (I will review it) and then went back to the room for a wonderful nights sleep. The room was quiet, comfortable and had a great shower with lots of pressure and an abundance of hot water. After a restful nights sleep we awoke to a grand breakfast. Everything was available and fresh, hot/cold, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit.... and cooked to order eggs. Out of room here... shame I cannot write more!

They pride themselves as a 4 star establishment but the quality of the service was not four star. While we were there daylight saving changed over but the hotel clocks did not change and the hotel did not tell the residents. It took four attempts to order a taxi and we were on the verge of walking in the rain for a 1km trip.

THIS WAS A GOOD HOTEL. THE STAFF WERE VERY PLEASANT AND OBLIGING AND TRIED HARD TO BE HELPFUL. THE FOOD WAS GOOD, BETTER THAN AVERAGE FOR BOLZANO THOUGH NOT REALLY OUTSTANDING. THE FITTINGS AND ROOM WERE COMFORTABLE AND SERVICEABLE. THEIR QUALITY WAS GOOD FOR THE PRICE THOUGH NOT TOP LUXURY
