Hotel was well maintained and clean. Staff very friendly. Room was clean with all amenities necessary. Free parking for the car. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold choices for everyone’s taste. Would go back if needed.

Beautiful hotel, dreadful weather during our stay. The lobby area could do with some colourful lamps and cushions (everything beige cream white), uncomfortable chairs in lobby.

I liked the look of the hotel for a relaxing end to my month around Portugal. Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball so there was no lying by the pool. Service is not at 4* level. Lacked friendliness and proactivity but wasn't bad at all. Breakfast staff were a little too keen to clear plates and often leaned over the top of you, often before you were finished using utensils. Breakfast offering was good in terms of variety and good healthy options for those of us who don't want fried food. Unfortunately the coffee was awful and I couldn't even drink it. (The coffee from the main bar is much nicer - but not included). I tried the tea but it seems the water in the machines is stale suggesting the machines need cleaning out. We did have dinner on the first night and it was ok. Lots of options but nothing that nice to warrant the high cost. It does however come with drinks included which would make up for the cost if you are drinking alcohol. Rooms were just bizarre - you can see right into the shower from the bedroom which is a massive NO for me if you're travelling with someone. I did like that large bottle of water were provided in the room and replenished each day. There is also a kettle but no spoons provided to store - just those awful wooden sticks. We didn't have a great view from the room - just out the back of the building but assume better views come with a different room type. The gym is relatively good but lacks a range of weights (dumbbells and barbells + plates) for serious trainers. You do need to ask where the gym is because you'll never find it on your own. There was a nice spa on site which I didn't get a chance to use but you are required to wear a swimming cap. Lastly, it is quite out of the way if you don't have a car. Cabanas village is about a 10 minute walk but Tavira took me over an hour to walk to along a main road. Unless you just want to lie by the poo (or have a car to explore) I'd recommend staying somewhere nearer Tavira or along the Algarve where there's better transport links. Overall it's a nice hotel but for me 1/2 nights would have been enough.
