When I booked, I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t be what we expected. However, I was quickly relieved when we got into our rooms. This is a nice hotel. Just across the street from the beach. Beds were comfortable, new furnishings and lots of attention to detail when the remodeling was done. The exterior was well maintained. I would recommend staying here.

The room was very spacious (room 212), it could have been improved with a larger double bed and two bedside tables. Decor was nice, hotel was clean and comfortable. We got a room with a partial sea view, I'm not sure it had much impact because you need to stand and peer from the window for the view and it doesn't have privacy curtains so we didn't leave the curtains open. Was pretty noisy due to other guests coming and going, but if you put the a/c on constant fan this white noise helps to mask the disturbances. Good location for East beach, but quite a walk to State Street if you want to be in the busy part. Free coffee in the morning was bad, but maybe that's just a Brits opinion. The receptionist was very friendly and polite. A good experience, but felt quite pricey, but that is likely due to it being in Santa Barbara and Memorial weekend.
