Check-in was quick and the woman was very friendly and cheery. The location is awesome. I would definitely recommend the beach view rooms at the end of the site as these view directly onto the ocean and Diamond Island. When I arrived, there were rabbits graving there. A little later in the afternoon, some deer showed up. A bit later, some wallabies were there. And then the highlight; after the sun goes down completely, the fairy penguins return to their nesting boxes which are also located outside of these rooms. The hotel has a free viewing area for guests (accompanied by a staff member to provide info etc), which saved money having to pay for a tour, which uses the same beach.
The rooms are basically like an apartment. 2 stories, the living room ,kitchen and a toilet on the ground and bedroom and bathroom on the upper, as well as a balcony overlooking the ocean. Kitchen as a microwave, kettle, toaster, hot plates, pots/pans, cutlery, crockery etc. There is also a small gym and guest laundry which is free ( apart from laundry powder which can be purchased from reception if needed.
No major negatives, just a few minor things. The blinds in the bedroom have gaps between them, so they don’t block all light. Since the sun rises early in Summer, room was really light by 530am. Rooms could do with some touch up ( marks on walls etc. Bathroom had a jet tub ( good, but I didn’t use it) and a shower. The shower was quite small. None of this would stop me from staying again.

Surprisingly good. It has it's faults, for example the room had cobwebs in some corners and windows weren't very clean. They also left milk that was 2 months expired in the fridge, and my young child drank it without looking. Luckily no food poisoning. I think the upper floor room we stayed in hasn't been occupied for months as all other occupants were... retirees. So only ground floor rooms were ever occupied.
But for us more able bodied we were given a big top floor room with an unbeatable view. I can't emphasise just how good the view is.
Everything was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is huge and has a spa bath in it.
And the highlight is the free penguin viewing at dusk. They have their own staff with red torches to help you view the penguins that come up from the beach and onto the property lawn.
I highly recommend this place if you can overlook the minor issues.

We were not impressed with the restaurant our food was not to our liking mine was overcooked, the pumpkin soup was thick and not worth eating. In all I would rate the meal 1/10.
