I booked Harrah’s Gulfport primarily because the price was cheap, and I paid extra specifically for a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, the room smelled overwhelmingly of stale smoke to the point that I genuinely could not sleep comfortably. It was disgusting and inexcusable given that I paid an upgrade to avoid exactly that.
I understand casinos historically allowed smoking, but this felt like years of smoke soaked into the carpets, walls, and furniture — not something a quick cleaning can fix. No amount of air freshener can cover that.
Beyond the smell, the hotel itself is very outdated. It feels like they’ve tried to cover up the age with cosmetic updates, but it needs a full renovation — not lipstick on a pig.
If you’re sensitive to smells or expecting a truly non-smoking room, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

I booked Harrah's for a solo birthday trip! I had to endure very loud Housekeeping staff! Paper thin walls whereas I could HEAR every conversation in the rooms on Both sides of me! The Casino is SMALL compared to others on Beach Blvd. There isn't much to do other than sit at the pool or gamble. There was a small SPIDER in my bed!! Nothin open after 12 other than except the casino and Steak n Shake where u pay $8 for a small not so good milkshake!! This was a gift from my husband and kids. Was a very special birthday with lots of memories and emotions! I couldn't really focus due to all the distractions!! I'll NEVER stay at Harrah's in Biloxi again!! Even in a FREE room.
