Booked this hotel last minute so there werent many choices left. Very basic hotel most likely run by family. Receptionist barely speak any English so google translate is your best friend. Standard twin room is fairly basic, bed was comfy with 1 pillow. Small flat screen tv. Hot water takes a while to feel the heat but given the local weather it's not bad. Buffet breakfast served cold food and very bland coffee (in fact worse hotel coffee I've ever had) - on the bright side, you can take a stroll down the street and will have many shops, restaurants and bars, great area of town. Will I come back ? Probably not. It's a run down hotel which crying for a reno. Both infrastructure and staffs.

The good - location. It's off the main road and since it is not in the city centre, less crowded. Short walk to the beach. The bad - run down facilities with almost to none service. Bedsheets, pillowcases and towels are stained (e.g. yellow, dirt). I had booked two seperate rooms because of the NYE period and can say that both rooms I stayed in had the bare minimum. The flooring in the toilet made it that it floods the entire area when you shower.

the windows from the room overlook a construction site and a pile of garbage. the air intake for the air conditioner faces the same side. it is impossible to be in the room without the air conditioner on, when you turn it on - the room fills with dust. the beach near the hotel is very dirty, we walked along the beach to the nearest cafe - we walked 20 minutes through a monsoon dump

I guess this is a family-run guesthouse operated by a couple who have a cute young son. The hotel was probably originally called AHAVEDA, which you can tell from the lettering at the bottom of the swimming pool. It seems it was later taken over by this couple and renamed Qualia. The rooms are fairly clean, but there is no telephone in the room. At night, there was no hot water in our bathroom. After going downstairs to contact the front desk, a technician came up very reluctantly to check the issue and told me to return to my room. However, we never received any follow-up or notification that the problem had been fixed, and when I tried again later, there was still no hot water. What was most unacceptable was that the swimming pool was not clean—the water was visibly cloudy. In addition, the restaurant’s hygiene was extremely poor. The food was covered with flies, and I felt like I was competing with them while eating breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel. Compared with chain hotels, the service lacks structure and professionalism, and overall the experience was very disappointing.
