According to the Agoda app, the check-in time was listed as 2:00 PM. However, upon our arrival at 3:00 PM, we were told our room was not ready. We were instructed to wait outside in the scorching 35-degree Celsius heat. We waited for a full 50 minutes in direct sunlight. When we asked for some water due to the heat, a staff member immediately presented us with a bill for two bottles. Instead of offering a complimentary gesture to apologize for the delay, they chose to charge us for a basic necessity.
The staff's attitude was unprofessional and completely lacking in empathy. When we explained that we were late for a scheduled meeting with friends after a long journey, the staff member, a woman, made a completely inappropriate comment along the lines of, "At least something worse didn't happen to you on the road." Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience or the delay, which was shocking.
The hotel itself had several issues. The garden was overrun with children loudly playing ball, which created a very noisy environment. The rooms were surprisingly small, and the ceilings were covered in wood. The building's structure appeared to use wooden logs instead of metal supports, leading to significant noise issues. The lack of proper soundproofing was a serious problem; we could hear everything from the room next door, including a phone vibrating, which was so loud we initially thought it was one of ours.
Despite hanging the "please clean my room" sign on the door every day, the area under the bed was noticeably dusty.
While the location and pool view were pleasant, and the owner's young son kindly helped with our luggage, the overall service from the main staff member was amateur at best.
The significant delay in our check-in, where we were finally given a room at 3:50 PM instead of the scheduled 2:00 PM, caused us to miss a pre-planned yacht activity with our friends. This completely ruined our plans for the day.
Given the unacceptable service, unprofessional staff, and the failure of the hotel to honor the agreed-upon check-in time, I request a full refund for my stay. I believe this is a fair resolution given the significant distress and inconvenience caused
