The Palms Kamala

The Palms is well located on the restaurant strip of Kamala 2 minutes from the beach Facilities are good with a pool and on site restaurant and many other places to eat

Stayed here for 5-nights. Had stayed here many years ago (pre-covid). This time, I feel that facilities and building has run-down a lot. The whole place is looking tired, like an old grandmother. The pool , which is their pride is not so clean, the walls and floor tiles in the pool needs thorough scrubbing & cleaning. I stayed on the 2nd floor and the bed mattress was also getting old. It was slightly lob-sided making sleep uncomfortable. Needless to say, the pillow's getting really soft and disintegrating inside! The sink for washing was stuck with water outlet flow at its slowest! Told them to do something during housekeeping, but situation was the same. Didn't improve. I hate it when you wash your face or brush your teeth and all the waste water don't seem to flow away and keep rising! The place has got a nice balcony facing the pool which is not exactly the best thing if you like peace and quiet. Kids and users of the pool can spoil the environment when they are playing in the pool. Due to the design of the buildings, the sounds echoes and travel upwards to rooms. The balcony was nice until it started to leak badly wetting the entire floor. This mars the great experience of sitting outside. Nevertheless, I still enjoy myself here due to the location. Its central to the beach, to the small pubs and to the main street. Was it worth it if you ask me, well...., this was the low season for Phuket and so the price offered was great. As long as the price is not too high, I think its still worth a stay here. AND..., TO THE MANAGEMENT OF PALMS, please give a make-over to the place and start maintenance jobs all over the hotel. The rooms interior needs a paint job perhaps, clean up all the balconies, they are dirty with dirt and hair all over. Tidy up and re-decorate the gym room or shift it to the pool side. To The Management of Palms: Spend some money to clean up and refurbish the place please. You have a nice facility here, don't waste it. Where is the Manager? Or someone on duty? He/she should check all the rooms to ensure some quality. The housekeeping is doing his own thing and not keeping to quality standards. Every room is hardly cleaned! Balcony is NEVER cleaned. I think someone ought to ensure that the entire place has some discipline. Lastly, I think its time to change the bedding. It been many years! Pillows too! Don't let this facility lose its flavour and worthiness.

Pro : Clean spacious rooms , we booked poolside room and its worth it. walkable distance to beach and many food choices nearby. Cons : they clean the room daily but dont change towels unless you ask them to do. also the bed cover. and they sweep the floor but you can feel the dirt always in floor even after they sweep the floor.

To the Management of Palms : Start doing renovating and refurbishing.
