    This is our 2nd visit to BKK in a year and both times we stayed at Radisson. We were impressed with the hotel hospitality during our 1st visit however I cannot say the same for the 2nd stay. The housekeeping is not very thorough especially the bath tub cleanliness. The live TV programme was badly lagging throughout our 6 days stays. Reported to the recept and the reply was is Telco issue. But the live TV programme at the lobby was not affected Very disappointed

    My first experience with a Radisson. I went on a recommendation. I checked into the room on the 20th floor. I dropped my bags and went for a much needed jump in the pool because Bangkok is very hot. Much to my surprise, the pool area was having a semi-private party. I was confused. I was not told there was going to be a private party at the pool. This is an area that is open to all hotel guests. When hotels rent private events, they do it in private rooms or halls. I saw one couple who got a lounge chair. There was a loud DJ, tons of kids screaming, and nowhere to sit. I asked a nice woman what this was all about. She said it's a cultural group celebrating an Indian holiday. She was very nice and said you can get something to eat. I said I just had lunch I wish I had known. She said try the ice cream it's really good. So I did. I'm obviously not Indian, and an Indian guy came up to me and said this is a private ticketed event. I had no idea. The hotel didn't let us know. And one of your guests allowed me to go get some ice cream. After my short jump in the pool, I went upstairs to meditate in my new room. During my quiet meditation, I could hear the room next door, showering, etc. This is an old building and the walls are thin, the insulation is not good. I don't fault the staff for the responsibility of the installation and the thin walls. But the next thing was the straw that broke the camels back. When I got done with my quiet meditation. I turned on the light in the bathroom, and much to my surprise, a huge roach was right in the middle, and soon as the light went on, he scurried under the bathtub access door. I know about roaches from many many years ago. Where there's one, there's 100. This was the 20th floor. I was late for my dinner engagement with friends. But on my way down, I told them my experience, especially with the roach. And I did it very quietly as not to to make it a major ordeal with guests around. They apologize, and offer me another room. I said I'm late for my dinner party. I told them I'll change the room when I get back. I said in the meantime, send somebody up there to spray the room, especially underneath the bathtub where they're all hiding out. When I got back from my dinner party, at 1:00 in the morning, ready to go to sleep and tired, I had no choice but to obviously switch to a different room. The staff was very helpful. I will say, I was not offered anything, not even a complimentary breakfast. When I got home, I sent an email to the hotel. The manager offered a room upgrade on my next stay. Not what I was looking for. I think some sort of a refund compensation would have been in order. Or a free stay at another Radisson hotel. So obviously, I cannot recommend this hotel whatsoever. Let the buyer beware as it says. I would recommend staying off the beaten path away from the debauchery of the main street. That's where the party is, the roaches, and the rats. This hotel is right in the middle of it all. Stay somewhere else.
