Our stay at Thiwson Beach Resort was a genuinely relaxing and memorable experience. Getting to the island is slightly on the expensive side. Transfers from Krabi to Koh Yao Yai and then onward to Phuket cost us around 1200 THB per person. From the pier to the resort, the hotel will charge around 400 THB for pickup or drop. However, you can easily get a ride from just outside the pier for about 300 THB per person, which is what we did. The resort itself is quaint, quiet, and on the smaller side, which makes it perfect if you're looking to unwind away from crowds. It faces east, so expect absolutely stunning sunrise views. We watched the sunrise right from the hotel and it was easily one of the highlights of our stay. The beach here is a bit unique. There is a wall separating the sand from the water, but you can easily step down into the ocean for a swim. During low tide, the water recedes significantly, letting you walk along the seabed, which is a very cool experience. There’s a lovely pool overlooking the ocean with views of distant islands, along with beach beds where you can relax. We rented a scooty right outside the resort for 300 THB for 24 hours, which was super convenient. Laem Haad Beach is about 15 to 20 minutes away and is a must visit if you’re on the island. It is perfect for catching a beautiful sunset. We explored the island on our scooty and it took us around 2 to 2.5 hours to cover most of it. Along the way, we met some lovely people and the cutest cats, which made the experience even more special. Breakfast was included in our stay and offered a good variety, including some vegetarian options. The staff were warm and friendly throughout. The rooms were clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully done. The property is surrounded by lush greenery, so expect a few insects, which is just part of the natural charm. A standout feature was the open shower where you can look up at the sky while bathing. Overall, a great stay. Peaceful, scenic, and great value for money compared to other resorts on the island. 100% recommended.

Room was lovely, spacious and modern. They breakfast is very good too. There's a convenience store just opposite the resort which is very handy.

I wrote a direct message to the property and on Agoda regarding the smoke coming into the bungalow causing toxic fumes inside and making us cough and unwell. I haven't had a response so I'm not very happy. The staff were disinterested and pretty poor throughout our stay, otherwise the resort is ok. The view from the bottom pool is lovely
