    I love this hotel. It’s just minutes walk from had rin beach but feels miles away, perched on top of a hill with panoramic views and surround by trees and gardens.

    Das Seabreaze Hotel auf Koh Phangan hat eine ordentliche Lage, ist insgesamt aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Hotel wirkt stellenweise altbacken und könnte dringend modernisiert werden. Unser Zimmer hatte leider einen starken, unangenehmen Geruch aus dem Badezimmer. Nachdem wir dies gemeldet hatten, kam zwar ein Techniker, allerdings wurde lediglich etwas versprüht, was das Problem nicht wirklich behoben hat. Zusätzlich funktionierte die Dusche nur eingeschränkt und auch die Klimaanlage war unzuverlässig. Das hat den Aufenthalt spürbar beeinträchtigt. Positiv ist die Lage im Süden der Insel. Man ist schnell am Haad Rin Strand sowie an einem weiteren nahegelegenen Strand. Für diese Gegend ist das Hotel gut gelegen, auch wenn man für andere Teile der Insel entsprechend längere Fahrzeiten einplanen muss. Mit dem Roller ist man flexibel unterwegs. Die Fahrten dauern zwar oft länger, machen aber Spaß. Roller können direkt im Hotel ausgeliehen werden, allerdings dauerte die Rückgabe sehr lange. Außerdem wollte man uns zunächst einen teureren Roller berechnen, was sich nach Klärung zwar erledigt hat, dennoch einen negativen Eindruck hinterließ. Das Essen in der Rooftop-Bar war in Ordnung. Es war dort sehr windig, was aufgrund der Höhenlage normal ist. Aussicht und Atmosphäre sind trotzdem angenehm. Ein klarer Minuspunkt war der Taxi-Service des Hotels. Uns wurde direkt ein Taxi organisiert, was zunächst hilfsbereit wirkte. Es handelte sich jedoch um ein hoteleigenes Taxi, für das wir aufgrund von vier Personen 800 Baht zahlen mussten. Für dieselbe Strecke vom Hafen zum Hotel hatten wir zuvor nur 600 Baht bezahlt. Da ein Hotelmitarbeiter zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch unseren Reisepass einbehalten hatte (wegen der Roller), wollten wir keine Diskussion beginnen. Empfehlung: Kein Taxi über das Hotel nehmen, sondern lieber selbst an der Straße eines organisieren – dort kann man besser handeln und ist günstiger unterwegs. Fazit: Gute Lage für Haad Rin und umliegende Strände, aber deutliche Schwächen bei Zimmerzustand, Technik und Service-Transparenz. Insgesamt maximal durchschnittlich und eher 3,5 Sterne.
